Together we start from the beginning where many drummers start from. Motor skills, maintaining rhythm and learning to sense musical numbers. Drumming is basically determining how fast/slow a song is played, and when the transitions come. Learning to sense these things is the beginning of the first lessons. We start immediately on the drum kit, and you automatically acquire the knowledge while you play.

The world of percussion offers an endless array of possibilities. My teaching will depend on the student: whether they would like to specialize in certain instrument(s) or styles or become an all-round percussionist who is not afraid to dive in wherever music takes them. I think it's best for consistent development to have a plan with a goal in mind. Where do you want to be in 10 years? How to get there? What do we need to do for it each year, each month, and each week? At the beginning of each lesson, I would like to listen to what the student has prepared, and from there, we will figure out what steps are needed to make it even better.

Together we can develop your skill as a cello player, building a strong technical and musical foundation. We will find a learning style that best suits you. We can study the cello repertoire and traditional techniques and we can also explore the cello in less traditional ways - improvising, writing music, using electronics and combining it with other instruments.

I specalize in composing music for ensembles, soloists, and orchestra - with a Masters of Music Composition from the Koninklijke Conservatorum Antwerpen. My goal is to pass along knowledge and coach young musicians who wish to create their own music, either as a composer, or simply to stimulate their own performance practice. I have a background of classical, folk, and various popular music styles including heavy metal, rock, pop, etc. We can work through the development of your works, touching on relevant aspects of music history, and implementing them into your compositional practice.

In these drum lessons the focus is mainly on playing technique of hands and feet and material. If you struggle with speed or you start playing, good technique is very important. A badly learned technique is also difficult to learn later. You get to know the drum set inside and out, the different types of sticks, the tuning of your drum kit, the choice of sheets and cymbals. I can also help you with the purchase of new material. The lessons take place at the student's home.

With beginner saxophone students, we will first work on proper instrument holding and posture. Then, before blowing into the saxophone, we will practice long-tone exercises using the mouthpiece. Once comfortable with these fundamentals, we will start producing sound from the instrument and learning the notes. We will focus on long-tone exercises to develop control and consistency. We gradually start incorporating short exercises or simple melodies as the student progresses. Learning and progressing on an instrument mostly depends on the student's dedication and practice habits. If you love music and commit time to it, you can reach a good level in a short period!

Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

I offer violin lessons tailored to your desires. Open to all levels, for beginners or advanced players. A violinist for 20 years, I trained in baroque and classical music at a conservatory before developing different violin styles (oriental, Balkan, folk, South America, variety, film music, etc.) I could pass on to you one or more specific styles of violin depending on your project. You will be able to learn music that is close to your heart, and cultivate the pleasure of practicing. Learning by ear, without sheet music, is possible. One-off sessions dedicated to stress management, memorization and the methodology of your personal practice are possible if necessary.
