Trusted teacher: I am a guitar teacher in Leiden with a strong focus on developing practical musicality and enjoyment in playing guitar. I can help you find your own style and relationship to music from the beginner level. The lessons revolve very much around the musical areas you are interested in, we will do things like look at your favorite guitarists and songs, break them down into their fundamental parts, and help the class understand what you are playing. I have years of experience playing in live bands and can help you develop your playing for groups and performances in many ways. I can also help with recording music, both solo and with groups. Here are some of the genres I like to teach: Alternative and classic rock Acoustic instrumental, Singer-songwriter, open tunings Metal and experimental genres Classical and Spanish Classical Ambient and Psychedelic with effects pedals Playing with fretless/7 & 8 string guitar I like that our lessons are structured and purposeful, we often have an online lesson diary together where I keep notes of everything we do in lessons, where you can add your own notes and things you want to work on. I find this very useful to ensure you are progressing with the guitar at a good pace. I have a strong background in music theory and if the student wishes this can be an integral part of the lessons. Personally, I enjoy teaching theory through the songs you have chosen to learn, analyzing what we play and developing your own intuitive theoretical understanding through this, in relation to your chosen musical genres. Although I am well aware that many students do not feel connected to learning music theory, in which case we can focus more purely on the playing and performance aspects. I have been teaching guitar for several years and it is a real passion in my life. Little makes me happier than seeing my students progress toward their musical goals and develop their own artistry. Feel free to ask for more information :)

Trusted teacher: It is never too late to start or resume learning piano! My teaching experience makes me a witness to this. Perhaps you came looking for piano lessons because you wish to be able to play some particular pieces, or to develop specific skills. Or maybe you don't know what your goal is yet, but are fond of the sound of the piano and want to dive into this wonderful instrument. Whatever the case, I am looking forward to hearing from you and discussing your next step! I try as much as possible to tailor the work with each individual student aiming at the goals set and the student's musical tastes. This becomes more the case the higher the student's level of experience. Nevertheless, beginners are also encouraged to suggest music for themselves to learn. The work on pieces is combined with other important activities designed to develop finger dexterity, hand coordination, rhythmic sense, music reading, playing by ear, etc. The Cortot, Hanon and scale exercises are some of my frequent choices for the technical work. For young beginners, I defend a no-book approach during the first 2 or 3 months, for three main reasons: it makes learning more fun, it unlocks our creative potential and it allows us to explore the instrument rather confidently and freely. Instead of learning how to read right from the start, students have the opportunity to play games, listen to music, sing, compose, and improvise over backing tracks, developing the core skills necessary for any musical activity later on. After this period, it is then time to introduce them to a method book. The one I recommend the most is Piano Safari. For teenage and adult beginners, the activities described above are selected and adjusted, and theory concepts may be introduced at an earlier stage. If desired, graded level series such as the RSL Classical or Contemporary Piano, among others, may be opted for. Please notice that my scheduling may not always be up to date on this website, so the best way to know my availability is sending me a message. Feel free to get in touch for any other questions as well! Looking forward to meeting you soon, Rodrigo

Trusted teacher: My name is Yiannis. I am a piano/keyboards player and composer. Being a member of various and diverse music projects and also leading my trio, playing in various European countries, is a fulfilling and motivating experience that makes me want to develop constantly, while fueling my passion and love for music. Besides performing, I have been teaching students of diverse age groups, different nationalities and backgrounds, of any level and style at music schools and in private since 2004. In my opinion sharing knowledge, passion and love for music with my students is of great importance, helping them to find or maximize their joy and skills of playing music and develop towards reaching their goals and dreams. Lessons The subjects I'm looking forward to working on with you, are: • Piano/keyboards in any style • Composition/Arranging/Songwriting • Music theory • Modern harmony • Ear training • Rhythm training (master’s thesis dissertation on “Applications of polyrhythms and note groupings in modern music performance”) • Producing (Cubase, Ableton) • Digital music notation (Sibelius) • Band coaching • Individual practice/goal coaching • Preparation for entrance exams for Jazz and Pop Conservatories In our first lesson we will talk about your musical interests, background, and motivation in a friendly and relaxed environment (over a coffee or tea?). We will form an individual course structure, tailored according to your needs. Looking forward to work and have fun with you soon!

Piano and music theory lessons for all levels and styles of music in Prague (Prague)
Giora
Fantastic teacher!! Giora is a professional musician and a fantastic teacher. He knows exactly what the student needs and his teaching methods are great. From the first assessment meeting he managed to spot the strengths and weaknesses, he listened well to what I want and what's my goal and devised a plan for me to reach it. He's not judgemental, provides timely feedback and compliments/appreciates the strengths and gives constructive/motivational feedback when needed. Moreover, he's very friendly, hospitable and also funny. For anyone who wants to learn piano, whether a beginner student or an advanced player, I highly recommend Giora.
