Hey! My name is Seán, and I am an Irish singer-songwriter based in London with 2 years of teaching experience. I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory. Having taught students of all ages and different levels of musicianship, I am pleased to say that I have built long-lasting relationships with many of my students. With an emphasis on creativity and student input; my lessons allow students to discover their own playing style and musical direction. I strongly believe that people learn best when they enjoy what they’re doing, and I incorporate this into my teaching style. I strongly encourage my students to bring their own ideas and suggestions to the lessons; that way they can learn a piece of music that they really like. With a background in classical music, I underpin my lessons with useful technical exercises that encourage dexterity, time-keeping and fluency. Finally, I encourage all my students to learn at least the fundamentals of music theory and sight reading. Striking a healthy balance between diligent exercises, music theory and fun musical expression, my lessons allow students to explore their musicality on all fronts. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or you’re building upon your existing skills, I am here to help you reach your musical goals. Lessons are available immediately, looking forward to hearing from you! Qualifications: - Grade 8 Classical Piano - Royal Irish Academy of Music - Piano, Vocal, and Guitar Training - MA in Music Production, LCCM - Decade of Songwriting Experience - Frontman for Seán and the Late Bloomers

I have a real passion for music and that's why I would love to help inspire and guide new musicians on their quest to learn the violin. Age is irrelevant when it comes to my lessons but the most important thing is that the student comes with a real incentive to learn. Everyone's musical journey is different and many people decide to learn an instrument for a different reason. Therefore, the regular structure for a lesson would very much differ from person to person. For example, beginners would mostly focus on sight-reading, proper form and technique. However, someone with a slight musical background could begin by learning pieces that they want to play and I would guide them with how to encompass the piece better and make slight adjustments to their technique along the way. When it comes to young children, I've worked in nursery and primary schools with ages from 3-7. The most important thing is that they have fun during the lessons and gain a real respect for music early on. Technique, theory and sight-reading are still incredibly important but what's most important is that the child is having an enjoyable time while learning. I have a strong musical background as I've been playing violin and piano for 14 years, I also have a great understanding of music theory. I've performed in multiple concerts of sizes of up to 5000 attendees. I was also established enough to have achieved a full music scholarship to a performing arts secondary school and college. At GCSE I achieved an A* in music and I would be more than happy to help GCSE music students with their music theory and/or composition piece.

Trusted teacher: I teach beginning and advanced aspiring pianists of all ages (3+) with a focus on immersing students in the magical world of music and getting the best possible quality out of them by challenging to achieve more than assumed possible. Music is a soul-enriching experience and developing musical skills can be a great gift for a lifetime. With solo piano performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Universität der Künste (Berlin) I am a highly qualified award-winning concert pianist with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education. My musical learning was also furthered by postgraduate musicological studies at Royal Holloway and serious interests in philosophy, religions, history, civilization, literature, poetry, law, languages as well as many other things. I loved my musical journey which included not only piano but also composition, the violin, recorder, flute, harpsichord and clavichord from childhood onwards. In the last two decades, teaching has been giving meaning to my life and I enjoy helping others to find fulfillment as well as joy in their learning. My teaching approach is comprehensive, builds up confidence and incorporates a multidisciplinary orientation thanks to which students get promptly enthused over their learning. There is a focus on enhancing musical understanding, developing or improving reading skills, building up technique, expanding repertoire in a healthy way and foundationally preventing or sorting out injuries as well as pain-related problems. Although my teaching style is primarily quality-oriented with regards to skills, I believe that happiness, confidence, results and a sane sense of achievement are important components to balance in holistic education and offer a non-judgemental, patient, kind, equality-oriented, multicultural environment in which learning can thrive. I encourage students to perform in concerts, festivals, exams and competitions. Many have won prizes in numerous competitions and passed exams with distinctions. Others have improved their technical skills as well as understanding of music, thus opening more doors and finding professional opportunities in the world of music.

David
David is an amazing teacher! He has very well thought out teaching style, focused on improving my technique, and providing clear and practical guidance. I really appreciated his willingness to tailor the lessons to my personal interests and goals. I also asked lots of questions about music theory and music production and he knew it all! I made a lot of progress with him and will definitely contact him for more lessons when I return to Rotterdam. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and friendly piano teacher, I highly recommend David!
