Main focus applied to overcome the problem of piano: mastering two-handed rhythm. To achieve this, I teach left-hand grooves and foundations while working on improvisation, harmony, melodies, accompaniments, and everything there is to play with the right hand. I introduce piano techniques such as walking bass, tenths, stride, drop 2, and more. From my experience, rhythm, "Groove", and the connection with the music in the moment it is being played are the most challenging aspects to learn and integrate. Thus, I give significant emphasis to these topics in my sessions, especially those aimed at playing polyrhythmic instruments such as the piano. I cover compositional tools, approaching Jazz Standards, accompaniment techniques, improvisation methods for any instrument, Blues tools, methods to strengthen the relationship with the instrument, analysis, and listening skills. I also teach classical piano for those interested, and offer specific training in rhythm and percussion. I am fully committed to my students. Trusted teacher: Hello there! My name is Antek and i'm a cellist and composer who graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a cellist I've had the pleasure and honour of collaborating with renowned artists such as Hans Zimmer, being part of his 2022 European Tour Orchestra, touring over 15 countries and playing in locations such as London's O2 Arena or Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. I am now mainly active as a performer of contemporary/experimental music, as well as classical music, freelancing in various orchestras in the Netherlands, having played in venues such as Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Concertgebouw or TivoliVredenburg. I offer cello lessons, regardless of the level - whether you are a curious beginner or more advanced player, i'm happy to collaborate and share my knowledge and experience with you, as well as inspire your creativity regarding both playing the right notes, and making artistic choices. I can also help you prepare for conservatory entrance exams by providing Solfege, Ear-training and General Music Theory lessons. As a composer, I'm currently pursuing a degree at Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. I can help you work on your ideas, and how to write them down, to sound exactly how you want them to sound. That includes tutorials on engraving rules, orchestration, working in DAWs (Ableton) and using sheet music software (Sibelius, MuseScore), as well as building your craft and workflow. I'm experienced in writing both instrumental and electronic music, as well as performance art, live electronics and multidisciplinary projects. I had a great first lesson with Mariela. What I found most important: - Mariela ensures you're comfortable. Her kindness and calm confidence work wonders for a self-conscious and nervous person like me. - Explanations! Everything is clearly explained, so you always know why you're doing something and how to do it correctly. - I loved the flexible approach: if you know exactly what you want, she'll help you achieve it, but if you're completely lost, she's ready to guide you, offer different options, and give you advice. No pressure, but lots of support. - I feel like Mariela has many different teaching strategies for various personalities and goals, which is awesome. Plus, she has a lot of cool vocal tricks up her sleeve! - It's obvious that Mariela loves both music and teaching, which is so inspiring. Overall, I had a very fun and productive experience and will definitely continue studying with Mariela!

Fantastic teacher!! Giora is a professional musician and a fantastic teacher. He knows exactly what the student needs and his teaching methods are great. From the first assessment meeting he managed to spot the strengths and weaknesses, he listened well to what I want and what's my goal and devised a plan for me to reach it. He's not judgemental, provides timely feedback and compliments/appreciates the strengths and gives constructive/motivational feedback when needed. Moreover, he's very friendly, hospitable and also funny. For anyone who wants to learn piano, whether a beginner student or an advanced player, I highly recommend Giora.
