I am passionate about teaching, and one of the greatest joys of my professional career is watching my students flourish. I have been playing the piano for 20 years now and have over 7 years in teaching the piano. My goal is to make the piano lessons fun and enjoyable while also incorporating all the necessary elements, such as theory, music history and sight-reading, to create a well rounded musical education. I am experienced with exam preparations (ABRSM) and music school admissions exams, but I prefer to create my own curriculum to fit each student’s specific needs and aspirations. I studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK (BA) and at the Liszt Academy of Music, HU (MA). I have performed extensively as a solo and chamber musician and I had the joy to collaborate with various orchestras. My greatest joy in music is collaborating and creating music together with other musicians, and this is why I am now pursuing the Specialized Piano Chamber Music Master’s at ZHdK. Having learned the piano since the age of 5, I cultivated a strong sense of interest and passion in music, obtaining my ABRSM Grade 8 Piano practical certificate before finishing my secondary education. I also hold an ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory. To improve myself as a performer and to acquire in-depth knowledge about music and piano playing, I have gone on to obtain my ABRSM Diploma (DipABRSM) in piano performance as well as LCM Diploma (DipLCM) in piano performance. I am also currently pursuing for my LRSM Diploma under ABRSM to further hone my skills in piano playing. Aside from solo piano playing, I enjoy performing with other musicians such as playing piano accompaniment for choirs and instrumentalists. I also perform regularly as a choral singer in concert halls. The first encounter with Elena was simply amazing. Our child was hooked onto the way Elena had proceeded with the first lesson and is very excited to see her soon again for the the next lessons.
