In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. I have been immersed in music, and particularly the piano, for over 40 years. I was trained by concert professors, who were themselves trained by the greatest (my own professor's piano teacher was taught by Alfred Cortot). I learned music theory at the Conservatoire and harmony and counterpoint at the HEM in Geneva. At the same time, I have a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from the Université des Lettres de Genève. This allows me not only to teach the essential basics of music to students, but also to place each style and each composer in its historical context. This greatly facilitates learning. I teach all types of music, from classical to modern pop, including film music and more recent composers like Ludovico Einaudi. My goal is to give the student a good harmonic foundation and a good musical ear so that they can be independent in what they want to play and always have the pleasure of sitting down at the piano! My classes are aimed at beginners of all ages (children or adults) with no musical knowledge, as well as advanced students or those who want to prepare for theoretical or practical exams. The scores will always be chosen in agreement with the student, according to their objectives and desired progress, mixing all musical styles (classical, pop, film music, etc.) so that they always have fun playing their instrument. Each student is unique, which is why each lesson is prepared individually to meet their aspirations or objectives. It is very important to me that the course takes place in a kind and sharing atmosphere, with discussion. For children, I can conduct regular interviews with parents in person or by phone (after each lesson if necessary) to report on the progress made and the achievement of desired objectives. I am very flexible regarding the wishes of each student and therefore adapt easily to any situation.
