Trusted teacher: I am a senior high school student in Metz and had 20 in the Latin baccalaureate last year. Specialization in Literature and Classics, with a C1 in English. I go to prep next year and offer myself video or "real" for private or group lessons! In terms of method: I assume that if you come to take lessons it is because the academic method has not enabled you to understand, so depending on the age of the person concerned, I vary! However, I consider that like any musical instrument, learning is done over the long term on a regular basis so that it becomes "natural". Thus, the video or face-to-face lessons that you take will be doubled as a newsletter which, depending on your availability, will be sent out every week in order to continue progress without having too much effort at the same time. I consider that struggling to understand for 1 hour per week does not allow you to quickly and simply acquire a good level in the subject in question. Suddenly, it is all a work upstream and over the long term that will be carried out according to your desires and needs. However, these are by no means "homework". These are small activities sent by email at a regular pace to have fun at the same time learning outside the classes that I offer. For example, it can be coloring pages to learn vocabulary, stories (podcast) to familiarize yourself with the automatism of Latin (a subject that you will see will turn out to be very mathematical), books for older children or crosswords for more advanced followers. Trusted teacher: Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. In the context of a first course, you can get a well-founded idea of my pedagogy. I look forward to meeting you.

Trusted teacher: Latin is a rather subtle language and for some, almost enigmatic, as the style, vocabulary and syntax can be confusing. However, a few tips are enough to find your way through what seems like a labyrinth to the uninitiated. Don't panic! A practical method exists that will put you at ease when faced with any Latin challenge. The delicate syntax of this language will no longer be a torture for you and you might even find it fun to practice reading and understanding texts that previously seemed hermetic to you. Reading, analyzing, understanding and translating a Latin text is possible. And even - why not? - writing in Latin. As an experienced teacher, I offer you supervision (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Online, the sessions will be recorded, if the listener wishes, and the video will be available for revision. You will have the rigor that this ancient language requires, today more current than ever. Declension, conjugation, syntax will always be a passion for you, by following the method that we propose to improve your level. You will soon translate texts from Latin to French (version) and from French to Latin (theme) in a simple and effective way. If you are an intermediate (non-exam) student, looking to upgrade and fill the gaps that could potentially hinder you in the exam class, you will find the skills and experience competition to be sure to meet the challenge. Whatever your fear or certainty of the weakness of your level, our promise is to raise you to performance. If you are a student in an exam class, you will find, through various media, the resources allowing you to get up to speed and approach the tests with confidence, with the certainty of a positive result. The difficulties that founded your fear or your aversion to Latin will soon be nothing more than ancient history! Yes indeed! We have already supervised auditors online or in person with satisfactory results, using a method centered on the learner and taking into account their abilities and limitations. We proceed with a flexible method according to the level of development of the auditor/learner to avoid any dropout that may arise from reluctance or apprehension. For you non-Latinists wishing to acquire knowledge in Latin for various uses or objectives, this course will allow you to have a good introduction to this classical language. You will now be able to read and understand simple to complex structures, access texts independently to increase your general knowledge or achieve your objectives according to the needs or requirements of your activity.

Trusted teacher: A LIVING METHOD Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I will help you progress in Latin or ancient Greek, which you will learn as a living language: it will not be primarily a question of translating Latin or Greek, but above all of speaking it, reading it, writing it! FORGET YOUR DICTIONARY By doing so, you will memorize vocabulary and grammatical structures much more easily than with the classic method based essentially on translation. You will no longer spend your life in the dictionary, and eventually, you will read your favorite authors like an open book! LATIN I essentially offer a living Latin course based on the Orberg method, acclaimed by thousands of Latinists around the world. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I can accompany you on the chapters corresponding to your level of Familia Romana (first volume) or Roma Aeterna (second volume). It is therefore important that you get this book. If you want to work on Familia Romana, I also highly recommend that you purchase the Vivarium Novum workbook to consolidate your learning: volume I for chapters I to XIX, volume II for chapters XX to XXXIV. GREEK For Greek, we will use the Logos method. It will be up to the student to obtain a copy of this manual. A LA CARTE COURSES However, I am attentive to pupils and students who are waiting for more conventional methods, particularly in the context of preparing for the baccalaureate, the competitive examinations for the grandes écoles, or even the agrégation. Version, theme, explanation of an old text: all these exercises are well known to me for having practiced them for many years. It is also possible to build a course based on your desires (excluding erotic texts and magic manuals). Do you want to follow one method rather than another? Discover a particular author? Tell me! Be careful, however, to remain realistic! We do not tackle Xenophon or Titus Livius without a solid level. Do not hesitate to contact me for any request. NB: I do not offer translation services, and even less for tattoos. Thank you for your understanding.

Justyna
Justyna is a graduate of the University of Athens and she is very much qualified to deliver Greek courses. She has great teaching skills and more than 10 years of experience in teaching the Greek language. Her communication skills are also commendable, and she can find the appropriate way to establish a very effective communication with the pupil. She is very meticulous and attentive to detail and she speaks always in a positive tone. The quality of her work is impeccable, and she has also elaborated here own teaching material (for example, PowerPoint presentations) to facilitate the on-line courses. I was very much surprised to see that even the Greek sounds of letters in her PowerPoint file were created with her own voice! With regard to the online courses, she has also the right technical skills to use the various online tools and software (e.g. Google tools), something which is not evident when working with other teachers. She is very flexible in terms of the time of the courses and she is accepting the various time constraints which may derive from the day-to-day schedule of the pupil. She is always in time for her courses and very accessible as well as reliable concerning all the necessary arrangements. In terms of attitude, she is very enthusiastic, an element which has a great impact on the pupil to actively follow up her during the whole duration of the course. She is also very dynamic in the way she delivers the courses, and she does not forget to praise the pupil when necessary. She is always assertive, independently of the learning pace of the pupil. Last but not least, I think she has the right ratio of humour in her courses in order to make the one hour passing with her as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend her from my experience so far.

Polyglot specialist with 9 years of experience. German in speed mode. Level A1 to C2. No school teaching. (Mulhouse)
Kevin
Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.
