# Conversations in German, Russian, English or Dutch
Conversations are the perfect way to improve your language skills naturally.
I offer friendly conversations in German, Russian, English or Dutch, on a wide variety of topics.
We can talk about science, art or even the meaning of life.
People sometimes pay thousands of euros to learn a language.
It's easy to be intimidated by a language's complex grammar and easy to give up.
Usually this is because there is not enough actual conversation training.
I offer conversations in the above languages on every conceivable subject.
## What do I offer
- Online conversations on any topic in German, Russian, Dutch or English.
- Connections between languages, to intuitively understand, and of course remember even complex concepts.
- Intuitive explanation of phraseology.
- Practical grammar exercises.
- Flexible timing (16/7) and planning for worldwide (online) audience.
- If you suddenly have a question, you can always contact me.
Flexible payment options: Payment in any way, per session or in advance.
## I do not do
- I don't learn grammar in the formal way.
- I don't use any particular method or book.
It is useful if you already have a small basic knowledge of a language.
My services are explicitly intended to build fluency.
## About me
My name is Martin and I come from a professional music background (masters degree in classical piano).
I have many different interests ranging from philosophy, literature, music and art, over languages and philosophy to science and IT.
Of course I also have a lot of experience in languages and I also have supporting certifications.
I am always learning and want to help people do the same.
At the moment I am also learning languages myself: Chinese (Mandarin) and Italian.
Online music theory lesson for all ages in levels.
I give lessons in Dutch, German, English or Russian.
Knowledge of classical music theory and music history is valuable in many ways:
Not only does it give a new view of the classical music world, but it also gives concrete skills, such as hearing and recognizing chords, singing complex melodies cleanly, recognizing structure in a piece of music and knowledge of background information and history of a musical work or composer. .
I teach all these elements in an interesting, well-structured and accessible whole.
In this context, I also prepare high-level students, for example for admission to a conservatory.
I adapt my lessons to all levels in ages, from beginners to academics.
I learn basic music theory skills, for example for admission to a conservatory, but also academically complex music theory at a high level.
My classes include:
- Solfège/Vocals (melody, rhythm)
- Ear training (dictations, recognition of complex chords)
- Harmony (basic, complex harmonic series)
- Analysis of music pieces
- Music history
I approach all these elements from the classical music tradition.
## About me
My name is Martin, I have bachelor and master of music degree in classical music, piano.
I have a lot of experience in giving both piano lessons and music theory lessons to students of all ages.
Discovering the world of music opens up many possibilities, insights and experiences.
Welcome, my name is Martin. I am a classical pianist and an experienced music teacher. I teach to play the piano and all about music theory.
The speciality of my piano practice is that I teach to students of all ages, levels and backgrounds. My youngest student currently is 4 years old, and my oldest is 88 years old.
Furthermore, my lessons are suitable for beginners as well as advanced students. My lessons are both possible as individual lessons as well as group lessons.
In the field of Piano Playing I teach:
Classical Piano Playing
Basics of Jazz Harmony and improvisation
In my music practice I work with official entrance qualifications and curriculums in mind. For example, if the goal is to prepare for a conservatory entrance exam I support the entire journey towards it in my practice, to guarantee best results.
A professional approach is always guaranteed. The exact details of the chosen learning path depend on the goal of the students. This gets discussed at the beginning of our lessons. There is always flexibility in support, should a student suddenly need assistance with something, even when not during lesson time.
An advantage of my practice is that I teach in a wide variety of languages. Currently I teach in:
English
Russian
German
Dutch
Italian
When I started my piano practice, many people were sceptical of the idea of online lessons, which is very understandable. However I discovered how to make even online lessons work effectively:
The secret lies in the ability to break down very complex topics, for example piano technique (E.G. hand position, use of fingers), into little parts that are easily understood and communicated. Because I communicate complicated topics very clearly, this works also very well online.
Next to the flexibility in time and planning that online lessons offer, I am also always very open for ideas of students: If the student has own interests or ideas, I will gladly adapt to that. Else I have a lot of experience choosing interesting and engaging music pieces and topics.
I have have a lot of experience in piano playing. In my life I have done a lot of professional piano competitions and international music festivals with famous figures in the music world. Besides that I come from a background of the famous Russian School of Piano, which focuses a lot on musicality and personality.
Over the years I have developed my own piano technique with the focus on relaxation. This makes virtuosity possible.
The philosophy of my lessons is to work primarily on the individuality of the personality of the performer, and to work with interesting and engaging musical pieces on artistic, musical and technical traits. The music always comes first!
Learning is one of the most beautiful things to do in life. Discovering the world of music opens up many possibilities, insights and experiences.

For music theory specifically online lessons work very good: We can collaborate, share information on whiteboards, listen to recordings, directly write and listen to sheet music, explore the piano keyboard and much more.
Next to the flexibility in time and planning that online lessons offer, I am also always very open for ideas of students: If the student has own interests or ideas, I will gladly adapt to that. Else I have a lot of experience choosing interesting and engaging music pieces and topics.
