It's also one of the most controversial countries in the world: leaders in medical technological advancements, but with people so poor that entire families (kids, parents, and grandparents) share a mattress. Whether we like it or not, China is relevant to so many professions that learning out the language and culture can provide a boost to your career. I've studied Chinese for over six years, with one year spent living in Hangzhou, China.
