For beginners, you will be taught fundamental music theory before approaching the piano to establish a basic understanding. Then you will work from exercise books addressing fundamental techniques for playing the piano, as well as various aspects of music theory, to equip you with skills to perform to a basic standard. For experienced players looking to revise their knowledge, you will undertake a brief test of a grade 1 standard to determine which grade you will be taught at. Then, similar to the learning approach for beginners, you will work from exercise books designed specifically for your grade, and explore a variety of repertoire to enhance your technique and equip you with necessary skills for your graded exam, should you wish to sit it.
