I’m very experienced at teaching the trumpet to children from primary age up to teenagers. I use a variety of repertoire in lessons and keep the pace moving with fun ways of learning. I recommend using tutor books such as Team Brass, books from the ABRSM classical and jazz syllabuses and from Trinity College London. I particularly like using pieces that have backing tracks and space for improvisation and I’ve also written my own tutor book for beginners/young players: ‘Are You Ready’, which is published by Warwick Music. I recommend different books depending on the student and what they like to play. I’m a professional musician and I play with Bollywood Brass Band, playing Indian film music with brass and drums so I love playing and teaching in different styles of music from around the world
