“I dream of speaking well in public but it’s a gift I don’t have…” Many of us view public speaking as an innate or unattainable talent. I have 3 excellent reasons to think otherwise: 1) Archival videos show us that even the best speakers had a difficult start before progressing; 2) I have supported hundreds of students who lacked self-confidence.
