Hallo, I am a Chinese American concert pianist and I have been residing in Europe (Paris, Berlin, etc) for decades. I have over 30 years of teaching experiences dating all the way back to my student times at the Juilliard School, New York. My teaching philosophy is to help my students to express their individualism through music. In order to achieve this goal the students are encouraged to master the basics of the art of piano playing, such as adequate technique, memory, understanding of basic music theory and historic backgrounds of the compositions, and last but not least, the ability to sightread music scores efficiently, which, unfortunately, has been ignored by numerously teachers to my knowledge. As a person I am friendly, punctual, open-minded and patient. I always see my students as friends and like to discuss with them about music and beyond, and through this way I can understand my students better personally so as to help them more efficiently in their musical ambitions. My multicultural background and teaching experiences in different continents/countries gave me unique insight to understand students from different parts of the world. I teach piano in English, German, and Chinese languages.
