Theory and music theory, in music, are far from being the most fun. But it is essential to do so to progress and have fun, to play as you want and without limits! With good methods and enough patience, you can still get there. The proof ? After 10 years at the conservatory, I still ended up liking it! But no worries, no need to wait so much. As for the instrumental, the work requires practice and patience. But above all, listening. A new ear can always make you grow, find details, different approaches.
