The course is designed to improve students' proficiency in English with a primary emphasis on speaking ability. They focus on the following areas of language: accuracy of speech, fluency, complexity, pragmatics, and pronunciation. These areas are practiced through a variety of oral genres including, but not limited to, a formal presentation, impromptu speech, small talk, oral summary, lesson presentation, and news story. As students prepare, watch and listen to a wealth of authentic material relevant to their professional and personal interests.
