I am a Portuguese language teacher specialized in teaching European Portuguese. I have a university background in Portuguese linguistics and in teaching Portuguese as a non-native language. I have 3 years of experience teaching Portuguese to foreigners of all ages. I focus on the communicative approach, where the interaction between the teacher and the student is privileged to obtain better results. I create a dynamic and fun learning environment while remaining educational and useful. I emphasize communicative skills, focusing on oral and written production and comprehension. In his classes, I only use the target language, Portuguese, so as not to depend on translations and to promote total immersion in the language. I speak only in Portuguese, to avoid dependency on translation and to help students think directly in the target language. I use pictures, drawings and other strategies to make myself understood, and check that everything has been understood. (I use other languages if necessary.)
