Methods are flexible depending on your level, goals, and preferences. For example, we can - use the traditional grammar-translation method - read something in Greek or Latin that you're interested in together - practice having a conversation in Greek or Latin - go over questions that came up during a course you're taking. All questions are good questions! Some quotations from my evaluations when I taught Latin and Greek as a grad student: "Silvio was a delight to work with. His mastery of [Greek] is impressive, and his joy at sharing his enthusiasm for it is inspiring." "Silvio is the most patient human being I have ever met. . . . He is very understanding in how difficult Latin can be and never talks down to us like we're stupid." "I have nothing bad to say about this instructor . . . he has made learning a completely new language (not to mention a dead language) engaging and easy."
The methods will depend on your level, your goals, and your preferences. For example, we can do - conversational practice - reading something in English on a topic that interests you - traditional lessons - resolution of doubts that arise in a course I don't think formal grammar is absolutely necessary to learn a language, but I do have training in it, so if you have grammar questions, I'm prepared. I know that all languages are difficult to learn, and English is a little more difficult than expected. Every question is a legitimate question!
Methods are flexible depending on your level, goals, and preferences. For example, we can - do conversation practice - read something you're interested in in Spanish together - have a traditional lecture with practice exercises - go over questions that came up during a course you're taking. I don't believe that formal grammar is absolutely necessary to learn a language, but I've learned a fair amount about it, so if you want to go there, I'm prepared to go there.
