I am studying Maths with Finance & Accounting at a Russel Group University in London and have been tutoring for the past three years, both online and in tuition centres. My first lesson is dedicated to understanding the students and parents goals from these tutoring sessions in order to personalise my teaching methods to suit specific needs and learning styles of each student. I will always email any classwork and homework in advance and there is open communication with the student and parent. We will begin lesson by reviewing the homework set and any questions the student may have. I then explain the topic the lesson is focused on, with notes provided and we will complete exam questions to ensure the student has completely understood the material. The lesson is tailored specifically for each students concerns and exam boards- I make sure GCSE students are very familiar with the marking guidelines and how answers should be structured logically for the highest grades. I ensure to have open communication with the parents and provide regular feedback.
