This Yin Yoga & Guided Meditation class is the perfect practice to release anxiety, rebalance the nervous system, invite calmness and stillness into the mind, surrender to what is and go within.
Yin Yoga is a passive, meditative, slow-paced style of Yoga. The postures are mainly floor-based and are typically held for between 2-5 minutes,
Physically, by holding the postures for this length we are able to access the deep connective tissue, targeting the fascia, tendons, and ligaments.
Energetically, Yin Yoga improves the flow of energy (or chi) in the body. This helps to release blockages or stagnation in the meridian lines (energy centers taught in Chinese Medicine).
Because the postures are held for a long period of time, breath awareness and mindfulness are large parts of Yin Yoga. As you hold the postures I will guide you through meditation, mindfulness and breathwork practices.
A flowing yoga class with emphasis on the breath. You will learn to connect to your breath, linking movement to each breath as you flow through a series of yoga postures.
