Learning outcome: write in French with clarity and structure.
My motto: learning by doing! As French people say “C’est en forgeant qu’on devient forgeron!” (Litterally: “It is by forging that one becomes a blacksmith!”).
Tailored for each student’s personal challenges, the class is structured as follows:
>1st session: Assessment of the learner’s level and design of the learning roadmap.
>Before class: write a text from 10 to one page on a topic on history, art or science.
>In-class: text correction and improvement indications.
I work mainly with visual sketches, mind maps, drafts and graphs to provide the learner with insights on the way motivation and memory work.
Covered during classes:
>French grammar: conjugation, spelling, syntax.
>Develop the French writing method:
-the different sentence structures;
-the structure of a paragraph (phrase d'annonce - développement logique - phrase récapitulative - transition)
-the 3-paragraph convention (introduction/développement/conclusion)
-logical argumentation and critical thinking according to French culture
This course is designed for individuals who do not speak English but are planning to travel to English-speaking countries. It covers essential communication skills needed for common travel situations, including ordering food, asking for directions, and handling emergencies.
