Trusted teacher: ENG (FR below) Hi! I am Elsa, I am 24 and I come from France. I am currently doing a jazz master at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, after obtaining my classical bachelor at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. I have been playing cello for 19 years. Over the years I played in various settings: chamber music (small ensembles like trios, quartet), bands (new music), solo and orchestras such as the Nationaal Jeugdorkest and Jong Metropole (national youth jazz orchestra). I love to play classical music but also some jazz, funk or pop! I like to play with people, create music together, improvise... And I hope this is something I can also pass on to my students! I can teach in english and french, and if your level is not fluent we will always find a way to communicate! I teach in The Hague, Amsterdam or online and I can come to your place to teach! Marcelo - ArgentinaC$27
Trusted teacher: I am Marcelo, and since I was 4 years old I have dedicated myself to playing the Cello. Although I come from a musical family, I decided to learn this instrument because its sound seemed irresistible! After my training in youth orchestras, scholarships, courses and private classes in Argentina, I had the opportunity to graduate from the Higher School of Music in Freiburg, Germany and complete my academic studies in the same country, at the Hanns Eisler Higher School of Music. , in Berlin with Master Troels Svane with the title of Master. I participated in courses, concerts and tours in more than 20 countries playing in the most beautiful and recognized concert halls in the world such as the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; Smetana Hall, Prague, KonzertHaus, Berlin, Walt Disney Hall, Los Angeles etc. I was 10 years soloist of Cello of the Symphony Orchestra of my hometown where I also founded a Cello Academy accompanying Cellists to fulfill their artistic goals. Some of them are in recognized institutions in Germany, Spain, the United States and England. I also received awards for outstanding performance by institutions such as the DAAD (The German Academic Exchange Service) and the Córdoba Stock Exchange. How are my classes? Whatever level you have, you will be able to learn what you need to quickly meet your goals. Be it learning to play a song, preparing for a conservatory exam or dedicating yourself professionally to the cello. I will accompany you with knowledge in music theory and history as well as tips to manage and optimize your study time. Also, optional, I can recommend literature to develop the best that is in you as a musician and as a person! Classes are Online, by Zoom or the platform of your preference.

Trusted teacher: My goal as a music teacher is to make the students able to experience all types of emotions by playing music, understanding the musical process from its roots with a creative approach. My lessons are designed according to the specific needs of each student and the main objective is to guide them in the optimal direction to achieve their full potential in a fun way. Thereby, the instrument becomes a tool to understand what making music really means and will be a way for the student to express his emotions. My approach to the lessons can provide a lot of creativity, fun and originality. How will my lessons look like From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality. Playing different music genres together As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.

Anna
I am a guitar teacher and professional musician myself who had no experience with the Viola da Gamba when I contaced Anna for lessons. As a trained musician, I have had many teachers in my life and I can honestly say that Anna is one of the best that I have ever had. She is knowledgeable beyond her years and her passion for music is so strong that it is easy to get inspired by it. She also puts a great deal of thought and preparation into her lessons, so you will be getting a lesson that is very much made for you specifically to be able to progress in a fast, yet relaxed way. Anna is extremely patient and took a lot of care to give me a good basis on the gamba. She gives very good exercises to target specific weaknesses (for me bowing), in addition to the note-reading exercises so you can get to know the instrument both with notation and without. In this way, you can also start from the beginning with very good technique. I have greatly enjoyed learning in the form of duets, playing simple melodies in the beginning that you can first practice at home by yourself. Then playing together with Anna is always enjoyable since the pieces and exercises she chooses are musically very beautiful and satisfying to hear on the two instruments together. Anna is a patient, passionate and devoted teacher. I know that she is an excellent player and it is rare to find someone so talented as a performer, that is also as devoted to her students and their own progress. I highly recommend her!

François
Francois not only works on my technique, but also musicality, efficacious practicing, and expanding repertoire. I just love Francois’s energy, his spirit, his kindness, his patience and his distinct method. He is a marvellous musician, teacher and he creates an environment that is welcoming and inspiring. He is very professional and responsive yet warm in his communication style. I enjoy learning from Francois and I always appreciate how positive and powerful his impact upon development of my musicality and techniques works with taking my own practice and cello playing to the next level. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who would like to learn cello. I am looking forward to and enjoying every lesson.

Elsa
We had Elsa in for a lesson as my son's usual cello teacher was not feeling well. Elsa was prompt in responding, punctual and most importantly, taught my son effectively. We are very happy with her and will not hesitate to call on her the next time we need her assistance again.
