Trusted teacher: I have proven success in helping students get back on track with French GSCE after only a few lessons and am new to this site. I love the French language and want to help my students not only to understand but more importantly to enjoy this subject so they are confident and well prepared for GSCE exams. I connect easily with young people, therefore creating a comfortable and positive learning environment. This makes it easier for them to engage, ask questions, and feel more confident in our online sessions. I appreciate that every student learns differently so my tutoring sessions are customized to suit individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. My approach is to simplify - I break down complex grammar, vocabulary, and exam techniques into easy-to-understand segments, making learning French more approachable and enjoyable. My lessons are designed to be engaging, incorporating a variety of activities that help reinforce learning in a fun, interactive way, from conversational practice to exam-style questions. I’m dedicated to helping students achieve their target grades, with a track record of students improving their confidence and performance in French GCSE exams. (including my own 2 now grown-up children.) For my current students, I am working with the AQA French Higher textbook.

I completed my school and university education in Lausanne, earning a certificate in Humanities with a focus on English Literature, History, and Political Sciences. After living and working in England for nearly 20 years, I can safely say that I have developed deep knowledge of English and a love for english culture. I now reside in Heraklion, Crete where I speak fluently Greek. My love for languages has always been a window into different cultures. With years of experience learning Latin, Greek, German, and English, and of course French I understand the importance of building a solid foundation in grammar, orthography, and vocabulary. However, I believe that speaking and reading are essential to truly mastering a foreign language — in a fun way and without fear of making mistakes. Also I am somebody that recognises that it is easier to learn language when we link it with the associated culture and teaching languages should be adapted to the needs of the person. C$71Detailed Tswana/Setswana grammar class taught by Motswana
Trusted teacher: Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region. I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching. Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana. I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language. Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence. My teaching materials I use I developed whilst living in Botswana, and have already been used with my aforementioned classes. I hope they can help you too !

French GSCE - Engaging French lessons to help students at GCSE level - are you struggling with the language, do you need revision classes?

My daughter is in year 11 and was struggling with French. This led to her not enjoying the subject anymore. Having started lessons with Julie, my daughter feel up to date with the rest of her class, is enjoying French again and has confidence in revising French by herself with regular sessions with Julie to support. Julie has been a life saviour for my daughter - would highly recommend. Julie has a very natural style which really enables the children to grown their confidence in the subject. Thank you Julie!

Excellent educator who has a good grasp of the language learning needs. Aicha emphasizes speaking and training the ear to the sounds and rhythm of the language. I appreciate the progression that she mapped out and the discussions and material that following each lesson. I recommend Aicha very strongly.
