Trusted teacher: Experimentation is an inherent characteristic of electronic music. Nowadays, composing music using technology creates endless creative possibilities that demand the musician/composer to adapt to numerous technical and artistic challenges. Do you like experimenting with sound and making music that does not clearly belong to a particular genre or style? Interested in bringing a fresh perspective and out-of-the-box thinking to your music production? Are you just starting out in electronic music composition and wondering how to develop your own style? This course is just what you need. In this class, you will learn: - how to transform sound using analogue and digital techniques. - how to create sound structures and organise them in a DAW enviroment to compose a piece of music. - how to record, edit and mix sounds using both conventional and experimental techniques. - how to use improvisation in both the context of live performance and composition. - about the theory and practice of free improvisation. - about the history and origins of electronic music and how it affected the music we listen today. - how to document and communicate procedures related to your artistic practice. - how to create an artistic portfolio. Aspiring musicians with a background in any genre can take advantage of this course. A formal education in music or experience with electronic music composition are not required to follow. However, you should be unafraid of experimenting with sound and music technology! Each class is customized to meet the needs of the individual student in an innovative and flexible way! The course can also serve as a preparation for applying to several Dutch educational programmes related to electronic music composition (Institute of Sonology, HKU, ArtEZ, etc.). The class is focused on small assignments that help the student develop a sense of orientation and set goals. Recording, editing, and mixing will be done via the DAW "Reaper," but we can switch to your preferred software at any time. We will use the first lesson to discuss your background, interests, and motivations in order to develop a course structure that is tailored to your needs.

Trusted teacher: Hello everyone! My musical journey began when I was just four years old, starting with the piano. Later, at the age of seven, I eagerly embraced the violin, adding its enchanting melodies to my repertoire. I achieved a professional mid-grade in both piano and violin. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Our debut performance at the IV Concurso Nacional de Interpretación de Obras de Mujeres Compositoras was a proud moment, affirming our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in music. Beyond classical music, I've always been drawn to exploring different genres and styles. As a member of the Jong Metropole Orchestra in 2023, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions. In every note I play and every project I undertake, my passion for music shines through. It's a journey of exploration, growth, and discovery, and I'm excited to continue sharing my love for music with the world. I've been teaching during the last 8 years. I am flexible with the students needs and I embrace fun and creativity in my lessons.

Nina - SpainC$48
Trusted teacher: Do you want to sing, but you don't know how? Can't tune up? Can't you give that high or low note that resists you? Do you get hoarseness, pain or discomfort after singing a couple of songs? I completely understand you because I have had some of these problems in the past and I know how frustrating it is, but now I am here to help you. I am Nina, vocal coach and singer and I welcome you. My job as a vocal coach is to accompany you and guide you so that you find your voice and get the most out of it. We will do this with the help of technique, vocal coaching and interpretation, so that you can find your personal style and the ease you need to practice healthy, responsible singing at a good level. My program is based on the Modern Vocal Training and Estill Voice (Voicecraft) methods. Now, who are these classes for? If you sing at concerts, in church, on Youtube, on Tiktok or in the shower, you are welcome. It's never too late to learn to sing so age is not a limitation. Neither is the time you've been singing with habits that may not be the best. You can always choose the path of healthy singing, which will give you a more satisfying and lasting vocal (singing) experience. I try to make the classes as specialized as possible, because not all my students arrive with the same level or with the same goals. The class is divided into two parts: - Vocal technique (warm-up and vocalizations). - Work on a song you like (applying technique and interpretation). In addition, I provide you with the necessary exercises so that you can practice at home and achieve the progress you are looking for. I work in blocks of 4 classes per month, 2 classes per month and single class. Cheer up and see you by Zoom! About me: I have been a vocal coach for 3 years. I have been training since I was 9 years old with various singing teachers, and in various academies. I have level 1 and 2 of Estill Voice, I am currently training as a Vocal Coach of the Modern Vocal Training method and studying a Master of Speech Therapy and speech disorders.

Experimental electronic music composition / Free improvisation (theory & practice) (Rotterdam)
Yannis
We just have started to work with Yannis, but I am really happy about how we progress and feel inspired and looking forward to future lectures. Yannis teaches me to develop a vision on how to approach working with sound, while recording, processing and using it in electronic composition. I would say he is opening my mind in a way toward the analysing a character of sound as a compositional element. I like that lessons are not only just about a particular technique (and there are so many to learn from Yannis), but about developing a workflow and a mindset. Examples from historical electronic pieces to listen and analyse from legendary electroacoustic composers are really inspirational. After each lesson there is a home task and in the following lecture there is an analysis of the results and based on that Yannis gives lessons on what needs to be changed, improved, pay attention to etc, in order to develop compositional skills. I highly recommend Yannis as a teacher, if you are into modern experimental electroacoustic composition and improvisation.

Teodora
I have been taking lessons from Teodora for a while now and she is a very friendly and warm person, as well as a very good cello teacher that knows how to create a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. I play cello as a hobby and for me it was very important to find a teacher that can adapt to my level. And Teodora does exactly that, I don't feel pressured and have enjoyed every lesson that I had until now. Her technique, style, and way of playing the cello, show that the she has great and in depth knowledge of playing the cello. Thus, for those of you that are playing professionally or aiming do to so, I think that Teodora has much to offer. So check her out, she is amazing.

Anna
Anna is the best! I was afraid of the lessons at the beginning but she is super cool and knows how to teach. I have learned a lot. Violin is a really complicated instrument but she is always looking for different ways to teach with many exercises and the most important part she is really patient. I have had a really good experience learning violin with her.
