Learning piano is hard Especially if you don’t have a great teacher next to you, who will guide you and turn the struggles into fun, and the difficulties into exciting challenges! I’m an experienced jazz pianist, teacher and music producer, and whether you are an absolute beginner, or you want to know better how to play jazz, or you want to start producing your own music, I’m the person for you! It will be a great journey together, at the end of which you’ll be stable on your new musician feet, and most importantly, you’ll do it through a fascinating and progressive journey, tailor-made on your needs to have a learning slope that is just right for you. You will learn from me how to compose electronic music and produce tracks yourself. From the introduction to the world of electronic music production to advanced sound design tips, mixing and mastering, I can cater to your personal needs and goals and impart knowledge. I teach in Ableton Live. I can adapt my teaching style to the understanding of my students and respond to their needs. It is also important to me to create a positive and pleasant teaching atmosphere. In my lessons, students can benefit from my experience as a music producer, sound designer and DJ. Education: In the summer of 2022 I completed my Masters in Audio Design at the Musikakademie Basel. Before that I did my Bachelor in Audio Design (Composition / Music Theory) at the same place.

Beginner Level Getting familiar with the software: Discovery of the interface, the different windows and the basic functions. Creating a simple project with a few audio tracks. Prepare the recording. Effects Handling and Basic Mixing: Using the equalizer to adjust the sound of instruments. Volume balancing between different tracks. Panning of instruments in stereo space. Creating a general mood for the song. Intermediate Level Sound design: Using samples and sound banks. Processing sounds with more complex effects (distortion, saturation). Advanced Mixing: Using compressors and limiters to control dynamics. Creating automation to add movement to the mix. Basic mastering to prepare the song for broadcast. Advanced Level Production of complete pieces: Professional mixing with attention to detail. Final mastering to achieve competitive sound. Advanced production techniques: Sidechaining, parallel compression, saturation, etc. Using high-end external plugins. Creation of custom presets. Post-production: Mastering for different media (streaming, vinyl, etc.). Exporting the project in different formats.

Almost all music today is made using computers—whether it's composed, recorded, or edited with music software. It has never been easier to create music yourself, requiring very little equipment or prior experience. I offer classes for all skill levels, from beginners who want to learn the basics and get to grips with music-making software, to experienced artists and producers looking to refine their skill set and make their music sound unique and professional. I have worked with artists across a wide range of genres, backgrounds, and ages. Through this experience, I’ve found that the common goal and joy in music is honest self-expression, something I pride myself on encouraging and facilitating, no matter your level of experience or confidence. The structure and timeline of the classes are flexible and can be tailored to your needs. For beginners, I typically recommend starting with an hour-long session once a week for ten weeks. The goal would be to finish at least two songs or pieces of music by the end of the course. Classes can be conducted in person or online. I am a classically trained musician. I was a chorister at Cambridge's King's College Choir as a child and received a music scholarship to one of the UK’s top secondary schools, where I studied trumpet, piano, viola, singing, and composition. It was there that I discovered my passion for music production on computers. I also achieved top grades in Music Technology and offer tutoring for Music Technology exams at both GCSE and A-Level. I then went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, specializing in Electronic and Produced Music, where I graduated with a first-class degree. My studies included modules in popular music production, songwriting, film music composition, acousmatic music, and orchestration, among others. Since then, I have been working with the charity Key Changes, where I visit psychiatric hospitals and forensic wards to collaborate with patients on music production and songwriting. A large part of this work involves creating instrumentals for rappers, which allowed me to learn how to produce drill and trap music. I’ve also run music production workshops for children aged 8-16 and provided individual tutoring to many young learners. I have an enhanced DBS check and extensive experience working with children aged 4 and up, including students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. In this class, we will be exploring music by learning your favorite songs from any genre you enjoy. I will personalize the lessons to your needs and make sure we cover all the fundamentals that will set you on the right track! I will teach you how to: - learn songs by ear, (pop, jazz r&b, funk, fusion, hip-hop, and whatever you like honestly) - improvise, - compose, - understand music theory (harmony, rhythm, scales, progressions, sight-reading etc.) - produce and sound design in Ableton. About me: Education: I started playing music at 7 years old, went through 12 years of music school, and then moved to Amsterdam and spent 4 years learning jazz guitar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I frequently play with various bands ranging from Pop and Funk to Jazz Fusion and even Techno. Teaching style: I’m open-minded and straightforward, and I focus on giving my students the tools and basics they need to learn and explore on their own.

My class is for anyone interested in music as a tool for life. The focus is to learn how to play an instrument and also cultivate mindfulness habits. I have taught with my own method for 20 years to hundreds of students from all walks of life. We start our session with a short mindfulness exercise and then you'll learn how to play your chosen instrument through your favourite songs. If you're interested we can also then start to learn how to write songs and even record them!

Students will learn how to structure a song, create emotional resonance, and apply basic music theory to enhance their songwriting. By the end of the lesson, students will have written a complete song draft, incorporating both lyrical and musical elements. Target Audience: This class is suitable for beginner to intermediate songwriters, musicians, and anyone interested in learning the art of songwriting. No prior music theory knowledge is required, but a basic understanding of instruments (guitar, piano, etc.) or vocal skills will be helpful.
