During this time he has also completed the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music teaching qualification.
"Tom has been tutoring my daughter Emma (8) on saxophone for about 6 months and the progress Emma has made is unbelievable. Tom is very friendly, plays the saxophone exceptionally and his lessons are always fun. It is hard to find the right tutor, especially when it comes to music, but Tom is amazing at what he does and Emma always looks forward to her saxophone lessons. I would recommend Tom to anyone who wishes to learn to play the saxophone in a fun and engaging way." - Eva
"10 out of 10. Tom is simply - Excellent. We were so lucky to find Tom and even luckier that he had the time in his schedule to accommodate our son with a weekly lesson. We believe Tom was instrumental in our son attaining successful music college applications - but even more importantly - his lovely, easy understated, non-intimidating rapport with our son is why we give him a 10 out of 10! He offers efficient structured lessons and is very encouraging. Of course Tom’s music theory and knowledge is exceptional...to have the guidance of a Royal Academy of Music Scholarship recipient has been nothing short of a privilege for son! Our son would like to keep carrying on with Tom until he gets to his next step - in order to keep his playing at the ready." - Janis
"My lessons with Tom have been a fantastic propellant for developments in terms of my technical facility, musicianship and developing a unique voice. Having the privilege of guidance from a master musician like Tom has allowed me to develop further and accomplish more than I could've hoped. Tom listens and clearly explains every concept and exercise with clarity, he cares about getting the most out of the lesson time which means you come away with plenty of material to work on. And as an extra bonus it's always a pleasure to hear him play his saxophone." - Marko

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a First Class Hons Degree in Jazz Performance from the Royal Academy of Music.

I am the winner of the 2017 Kenny Wheeler Prize in association with Edition Records.

Saxophone and Flute Jazz and Classical from Professional MusicianI’m a professional musician who studied on the highly regarded jazz course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance; whilst at Trinity I also studied Flute with members of some of London’s prestigious orchestras. I've performed all over London at well known venues like Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and The South Bank Centre but also played around in the city in jazz clubs like Kansas Smitty’s and Olivers. As well as performing in London I’ve played all around the UK and abroad at festivals such as the New Generations Festival in Florence (playing with American jazz artists such as Dominic Farinacci and Dan Tepfer). I’m also a highly experienced and regard teacher having taught all the way from university level to primary school. My teaching adapts to the pupil after we identify the areas we want to and wish to work on but also aspects of playing i think you need to improve or will be good to work on. I can also provide theory lessons

Saxophone lessons with professional saxophonist for all levels, children or adults. English, Español, FrançaisProfessional saxophonist eager to teach and work to bring out the best version of yourself!
The lessons are intended for all levels, children or adults.
We follow a working method where you will continuously and deeply develop your musicality, way of playing, expressiveness and technique.
-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------
Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq.
He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente.
Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ”
In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Flute, Piano, Singing, Saxophone, Clarinet and Music Theory LessonsI teach instrumental lessons (face to face from my Music Studio and online) on flute, piano, singing, saxophone and clarinet, as well as music theory. I also offer general musical skills sessions for young children who are not quite old enough to learn one specific instrument yet.
I have experience as a Music Teacher and Lecturer for schools and colleges, so I also offer help with GCSE and A-Level Music.
I attend regular Safeguarding training and I have an advanced DBS on the update service. I also have experience working with children who have special educational needs and EHCP’s.
Learning music and an instrument as well as being part of a group or ensemble, is about much more than becoming a performer. The skills and techniques learnt, are incredibly versatile for use in other subjects as well as being valuable life skills. Below are some of the skills which are developed in Music:
Co-ordination
Motor skills
Imagination
Expression
Commitment
Discipline
Organisation skills
Self evaluation
Confidence
Team work
Communication
Support
Setting targets and goals
Sense of achievement
I am also a Musical Director for choirs where the importance is on community, enjoyment, health and well being and making sure that people feel included and good about singing with a wide range of repertoire including classical, folk, jazz, gospel, pop and musical theatre.
I also have experience of running school and college choirs, orchestras and ensembles. I choose repertoire of various genres for students to explore different sounds and styles, with some being quicker to learn but effective, to build a more instant satisfaction and confidence within the group, while other pieces are more technical, allowing students to challenge themselves.
As well as being a solo Flautist, Singer, and Saxophonist, I am part of an acoustic Classical Flute and Guitar duo, a Folk duo, a Jazz ensemble and a Folk Rock band, performing at weddings, private functions, festivals and events.
