Good morning! My name is Stéphane, I am an Erasmus student in Lyon. I am a native speaker of French and Italian (I was born in Rome). I therefore offer conversation in Italian, all levels! We can talk about several things! I know Italian history and art quite well, I also like to talk about current events. But we can focus on specific needs, kind of fields of work, a vocabulary of a particular field, field of study... I like people to feel comfortable and interested in the topics of conversation. I therefore prefer that there is no need to take the lead in a conversation: to be concentrated on the language is already enough, no need in addition to concentrate on things that do not belong to our field of interest and curiosity. I like cooking! If you want to find out how the real Carbonara is made, the real Amatriciana, or you want to follow a recipe in Italian, I'm here for that too! I consider myself available and flexible, I am patient but I don't hesitate to correct and give precise indications and corrections, I like when what I explain is precise. The lessons can be done either face-to-face, at home in Lyon and Villeurbanne, or online, by webcam (zoom, google meet, teams etc...). As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
