Hello, my name is Tin and I teach double bass, electric bass and music theory. I completed a master's degree in jazz double bass and electric bass at the Graz University of Art and specialize in popular music, jazz and improvisation. In my teaching method, I like to track each student's progress with a personal practice chart and work plan. I like to use exercise apps, books and various tools to further develop individual musicality. With beginner saxophone students, we will first work on proper instrument holding and posture. Then, before blowing into the saxophone, we will practice long-tone exercises using the mouthpiece. Once comfortable with these fundamentals, we will start producing sound from the instrument and learning the notes. We will focus on long-tone exercises to develop control and consistency. We gradually start incorporating short exercises or simple melodies as the student progresses.
