Cello lesson for all ages and levels (also by Skype)

I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. If you would like, I would be more than happy to share some knowledge of music theory along with the violin lessons. Lessons are private and not in groups.

Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I am a cellist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. I play chamber music and solo. Teaching has always been my passion and I enjoy sharing my music knowledge with my students. Lessons are at my home in Amsterdam. Everyone is welcome: children, amateurs or students. Hello there! My name is Antek and i'm a cellist and composer who graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a cellist I've had the pleasure and honour of collaborating with renowned artists such as Hans Zimmer, being part of his 2022 European Tour Orchestra, touring over 15 countries and playing in locations such as London's O2 Arena or Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. I am now mainly active as a performer of contemporary/experimental music, as well as classical music, freelancing in various orchestras in the Netherlands, having played in venues such as Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Concertgebouw or TivoliVredenburg. I offer cello lessons, regardless of the level - whether you are a curious beginner or more advanced player, i'm happy to collaborate and share my knowledge and experience with you, as well as inspire your creativity regarding both playing the right notes, and making artistic choices. I can also help you prepare for conservatory entrance exams by providing Solfege, Ear-training and General Music Theory lessons. As a composer, I'm currently pursuing a degree at Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. I can help you work on your ideas, and how to write them down, to sound exactly how you want them to sound. That includes tutorials on engraving rules, orchestration, working in DAWs (Ableton) and using sheet music software (Sibelius, MuseScore), as well as building your craft and workflow. I'm experienced in writing both instrumental and electronic music, as well as performance art, live electronics and multidisciplinary projects. I have also collaborated with institutions like National Polish Radio or CelloWercken Festival Zutphen. Hello! I am Irene, a graduated Master student at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium, and I offer cello lessons to people of all ages, both online and in person. I have more than 7 years of experience teaching both adults and children, in private lessons, group lessons and music schools. I have also taught music theory and piano to beginners. The lessons could work in different ways: regular lessons every one or two weeks, or just a couple of times, etc. I have had students that only wanted to learn a bit, and I also have students that have continued for some years with me. I could also adjust the duration of the lessons from 30mins (especially for younger kids) to 1h. The lessons can be in English and Spanish, and now also in Nederlands! (work in progress!) The lesson can be in the student's home or in my studio in Vogelenbuurt, and also online! Flexible hours. I want to base my lessons on playing the guitar and related instruments in a way that feels mastered and personal. I therefore want to focus on expression, technique and the aurally malleable nature of the instrument, for example by discussing extended techniques and the use of effect pedals. I want to invite the students to learn to listen carefully to the impact of different playing techniques and audio effects. During the lessons I want to cover different kinds of music theory, especially in an "applied" way that is valuable to the student. I also want to deal with recording and producing my own work. Owning your own effects pedals, a guitar amplifier or recording equipment is not required for this course.

My approach to the lessons can provide a lot of creativity, fun and originality. How will my lessons look like From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality. Playing different music genres together As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.
