Chinese is getting more and more useful nowadays. I hope I can help students to find out the ways that are most suitable for them in learning Chinese, and improve gradually. I offer Mandarin lessons for people who want to learn the language and be able to communicate in everyday life. Beyond learning to write, I offer to work on pronunciation and listening, essential prerequisites for oral expression and comprehension. I adapt my lessons to the needs of the student, whether they are new learners, false beginners or already have a solid foundation but wish to strengthen their communication skills. Having learned traditional Chinese (used in Taiwan), it is this form of writing that I teach in writing, oral communication being undifferentiated between mainland China and other Chinese-speaking countries. However, I use the phonetic system of pinyin to simplify teaching. My mastery of Chinese being above all oral, I propose to work on all aspects relating to pronunciation (Chinese initials and finals, isolated tones and in context) for beginners, and the fluidity of oral expression for more advanced levels. Through my experience as an expatriate in a Chinese-speaking country, I am also keen to pass on keys to understanding Chinese culture to enable people who are considering a stay or a trip to a Chinese-speaking country to better understand the interpersonal relationships, habits, festivals and customs, beliefs, etc. which strongly influence life there.
