I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Classical Music, and I love to share my knowledge, experiences, and passion for the violin with my students. Would you like to learn violin in a fun and relaxed atmosphere? My name is Gabriela, I have 12 years of experience as a performing violinist and started with my teaching practice 3 years ago. Music is a wonderful way of bringing joy and people together. My goal is to give you the tools to share it with the people around you. In this class you will learn the basics of violin technique such as the correct body posture, violin hold and the grip of the bow. In combination with violin, a introduction to music theory will also be taught! A personalized plan can be made for each student according to their own musical taste, this could range from classical, film, folk, pop music and others. Students of all ages are welcomed!

Teaching music that you would like to play for people, for yourself, whatever you want, I will find ways to help you with my practice methods, using my knowledge and experience that I got for more than 15 years of studying music, playing on stage, in a choir, with an orchestra, in music competitions, the difference of playing in all those situations, how to deal with your emotions when you play in front of people, and more.

As many musical instruments, piano tells a story, expresses emotional experiences, communicates desires and wishes. This class is for people (teenagers, young adults, or adults) who have always had the passion for piano but never had the opportunity to learn how to play. This class is also for those who simply want to improve their piano skills, going from a beginner to intermediate level. This class has two major focuses: 1. For beginners: main focus on on piano practice, learning new songs with incremental difficulty, and understanding of the music sheet. 2. For intermediates: main focus on intermediate/advanced songs with in depth comprehension of the music sheet. Skills you will acquire: 1. Beginners: you will learn how to play basic piano songs and obtain a basic knowledge of the music sheet. 2. Intermediates: you will learn how to play more complex songs and obtain a more advanced comprehension of the music sheet. Furthermore, you will learn the basis for piano music composition. I want this class to keep students challenged, but absolutely not overwhelmed. So, I will evaluate the few homeworks that I assign after every session and provide constructive feedbacks, in order for you to better learn.

During this course you will learn how to make your arrangements sound unique and interesting, pleasing for performers and beautiful for audience, where to start, how to make a good balance, instrumentation, orchestration, Harmony and etc. Music theory and ear training: Would you like to have a better understanding of music? Hello! I offer piano lessons for people at any level. I have experience with beginners, intermediate and advanced players. I have experience with students from age 12 to senior students. I have experience playing and performing music from the Early Baroque to Contemporary Music. Nevertheless, my expertise remains in music from Bach to post-romantic and neoclassic composers. I also have experience performing piano Spanish music (Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Enric Granados). I also offer Music Theory, Harmony, Solfege, Musical Dictation and Ear Training Lessons. I have some notions on Jazz piano, and I can definitely teach Rock and Pop piano. Nevertheless, my expertise remains in Classical Piano playing and performing. I am a concert pianist currently living in Philadelphia! I am proud to have more than 20 awards from international piano competitions. If you want to read my artistic bio and read about the awards, and hear me play, please check my website. I am originally from Russia, and for the last two years I have lived in Europe. I’m back in the states in Summer 2024. Here is my story: I started out as a jazz pianist but began dedicating myself to classical music around the age of 14. Two years later I was accepted to the prestigious Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. I lived in Russia until the age of 18, and even back then I had major success in international piano competitions. I moved to the US to study with a Van Cliburn Gold medalist under a full scholarship at Park University. I later got my Master’s in piano performance at Yale University. While in the US, I played all over the country and won close to ten international piano competitions. During the past two years I have lived in Germany, where I tried to absorb as much experience as possible about the German piano tradition. I am a U.S. green card holder now. My strategy is to teach you to practice as efficiently as possible. Most people are wasting their time practicing the instrument, then get frustrated and eventually abandon it. I will show you how to make your practicing meaningful. The goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable, not harder. I would describe my approach as hands-on, but I am willing to give students as much freedom as they choose. I often ask my students to send me a video recording of their performance so that we can track progress and discuss our goals and objectives together. I send a detailed lesson summary and practice instructions at the end of every lesson. I try to be polite but straightforward. My job is to encourage you but also be clear about what is getting in your way. I am a perfectionist and encourage my students to push the bar as high as is possible at the moment. Although I have experience as a jazz pianist, my formal training is as a classical pianist and I prefer to offer only classical music lessons, yet the repertoire can range from early baroque to the most recent contemporary. In this class, you are going to learn the fundamentals of creating original music, including Music theory, Motif Development, Rhythm, Structure, Orchestration, and Music Notation. During our classes, we are also going to explore different musical genres, analyze and finally put them into practice.
