Hello everyone! My name is Kiki, I am a linguist and a (Modern/Ancient) Greek language teacher, currently working on my PhD thesis on the intercultural expression of emotions. I am also a translator and a trained tour guide, constantly engaging in the interplay of language and culture! I live and work in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I 've been practicing teaching for over 15 years now, working within a whole variety of different environments and with people coming from a range of cultural backgrounds. One of the reasons I love teaching/translating is the ongoing process of exchanging knowledge of intercultural linguistic patterns that shape our everyday reality. You don't need to have any knowledge of the Greek Language. You need only a PC and good internet connection. You don't have to buy any books or materials. You need only appetite to learn and to be present at the lessons. I will send everything you need about the lessons. My lessons are adjustable to your time to study. If you don't have time to study at home, don't worry. A lot of adults work or have children and is difficult for them to spend time at home studying. I will explain grammar, we will do together exercises, speaking, listening, vocabulary exercises and we will read texts. Also, videos and on line games will be provided to you. I am not strict as a teacher and I am very flexible about the schedule.

Ancient Greek is one of the oldest languages in the world. A multitude of literary and philosophical texts have been written in this language. Later, Latin will take up many elements of the heritage of ancient Greek. Today, about 10% of the words in the French language have an ancient Greek origin. Our educational exchange aims to understand ancient Greek culture and Western European culture in general. Although it is a dead language, ancient Greek can instill values in us, broaden our horizons and even help us understand French better. At first we will study the alphabet and the general rules of word formation. With the help of mythology and texts (philosophical, literary and others), you will be able to understand basic words, phrases and expressions and get to know the world of ancient Greece. Finally, in Modern Greek, you can prepare for all levels, from A1 to C2.
