Private Piano Lessons for Beginner, Intermediate, & Advanced Students
Private Piano Lessons for Intermediate and Advanced Levels for All Ages but Beginners Ages 9 and above. Lessons include theory, ear-training, sight-reading, history, technique, performance, interpretation, and musicality. Concentration and focus vary depending upon individual student's skills and needs. To excel students' performing experiences with skill and knowledge, I work with students for ABRSM exams, National Federation Junior Festival, and Music Teacher assessment events, besides the routine lesson plans. Student recitals are given twice a year.
Piano studying is not only about learning the notations but also expressions, interpretations, phrasing, structures, tonal relationships, mood, articulations, analysis, and etc. I include some music history in association with the pieces the students are learning to play, besides the theory and structure of it. I would ask my students to find any patterns in the pieces and any differences between the same or similar passages. I often ask students to tell me what they can find throughout the pieces based on the knowledge they have and what they have acquired through the lessons. I ask them to listen while playing and train them to listen. When they make mistakes, they likely do notice the weirdness about them through listening the sound. I imitate HOW they play a passage and HOW I play it, and ask them what the differences are in terms of techniques and artistic interpretation. I explain how the students should practice and how they can tackle and isolate a problematic area.
My piano lessons include theory, history, ear-training, sight-reading, technique, performance, and interpretation. I encourage students to participate as many as judged performances and competitions in reaching personal goals and achievements, other than being competitive.
Extra information
I have great passion for teaching piano. I have invested my time and thought into it. I would like my students to enjoy, understand, and bring the ARTISTRY of music into their life. I explain everything why we need to have a certain posture and awareness of entire body movement, why we play certain notes certain whys, why we need to relax our wrists while playing arpeggios and scales, why we push our elbows out to play big chords, why we use different weight transfer to the hands, why we don’t attack notes, why we rock back and forth to play tremolos, why we bring the melody out rather than just make sound out through different pitches, and etc.Piano studying is not only about learning the notations but also expressions, interpretations, phrasing, structures, tonal relationships, mood, articulations, analysis, and etc. I include some music history in association with the pieces the students are learning to play, besides the theory and structure of it. Philadelphia/Online Study Piano With Concert Pianist and Yale GraduateI am a concert pianist currently living in Philadelphia! I am proud to have more than 20 awards from international piano competitions. If you want to read my artistic bio and read about the awards, and hear me play, please check my website. I am originally from Russia, and for the last two years I have lived in Europe. I’m back in the states in Summer 2024.
Here is my story: I started out as a jazz pianist but began dedicating myself to classical music around the age of 14. Two years later I was accepted to the prestigious Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. I lived in Russia until the age of 18, and even back then I had major success in international piano competitions. I moved to the US to study with a Van Cliburn Gold medalist under a full scholarship at Park University. I later got my Master’s in piano performance at Yale University. While in the US, I played all over the country and won close to ten international piano competitions. During the past two years I have lived in Germany, where I tried to absorb as much experience as possible about the German piano tradition. I am a U.S. green card holder now.
My strategy is to teach you to practice as efficiently as possible. Most people are wasting their time practicing the instrument, then get frustrated and eventually abandon it. I will show you how to make your practicing meaningful. The goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable, not harder. I would describe my approach as hands-on, but I am willing to give students as much freedom as they choose. I often ask my students to send me a video recording of their performance so that we can track progress and discuss our goals and objectives together. I send a detailed lesson summary and practice instructions at the end of every lesson. I try to be polite but straightforward.
My job is to encourage you but also be clear about what is getting in your way. I am a perfectionist and encourage my students to push the bar as high as is possible at the moment.
Although I have experience as a jazz pianist, my formal training is as a classical pianist and I prefer to offer only classical music lessons, yet the repertoire can range from early baroque to the most recent contemporary.
Wishing you my musical best,
Simon

Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisationHey!
My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels.
For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that!
Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;)
I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example.
The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible.
See you soon!

Piano / Music Theory Lessons for All Levels - Recent Graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of MusicGeneva - Lausanne - Morges
Courses in English, French, Italian (native languages) - German (European level B2)
As a graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of Music, I offer with great enthusiasm, excellent methodology, and a strong desire to share my passion, piano and music theory lessons for all levels.
Having completed 12 years of studies in Piano and Music Theory, as well as courses in Musical Training and Sight-Reading, I want to introduce this extraordinary instrument to both beginners and advanced students with the same passion that my teachers (including Sodi Braide, who studied at the Paris National Conservatory of Music (CNSM), and Stéphanie Aubert) used to bring me to my current level—performing in major concerts and competitions with first prize at the CMG.
As a mechanical engineering student at EPFL, I can adapt the lessons in a fun yet rigorous way, to captivate young beginners. At the same time, my background allows me to expand and deepen the pianistic knowledge of advanced pianists.
I look forward to sharing my passion with you!
