English is basic in our lives nowadays, I speak from my own experience. For many years I have been a camp counselor in the United States where everything is spoken in English, so, as well as being necessary, it is a very simple language to learn as well as to practice. We come from a film and music industry where the majority of works produced and published are original in English, which means that most of our entertainment is in English, and knowing only very simple things would immediately open us up to the world of English without the need for any translation. Not only that, English is within the ranking of the most spoken languages along with Spanish, and since we know the first one... Let's reinforce or learn this second, essential and simple one!
