With my bachelor's and master's degrees as well as my bachelor's degree in musical education from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and years of experience playing the flute, I am well prepared to pass on my passion for music to anyone who wants to learn to play the flute. Over the last ten years, I have taught students of all ages - from children to teenagers and adults - to play the flute, recorder, alto flute and piccolo. I have developed a flexible and individually adapted teaching concept that responds to the needs of each individual - be it for fun, to prepare for competitions or to prepare specifically for entrance exams. Hello!! I'm Marina, I'm 23 years old and I come from the Basque Country (North of Spain). I finished my bachelor's degree in San Sebastián (Spain) and I came to The Hague 3 years ago to continue my Flute studies. I am currently in my second year of my Master's degree at Codarts (Conservatory of Arts in Rotterdam). As a passionate musician, I would like to help you and teach you all the knowledge I have about the flute and music in general. As a promoter Geni has been running, and raising funding for, Liverpool's 'Parrjazz' for 13 years, promoting UK jazz acts such as Soweto Kinch and Go Go Penguin alongside International guests such as Snarky Puppy and Ghost - Note Geni is also a tutor at Liverpool university and WaterBear college of Music, and has worked as private mentor for many years, also on Breaking The Record, a programme created to empower women in music.

I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.
