Results-Driven SSAT Prep, All Sections and Levels, 15+ Years Experience

Hi, I'm Natalie! For over 15 years, I’ve helped students prepare for all sections of the SSAT exam. We focus on concept review, strategy/approach, and good time management techniques so they can reach their score goals.

*Elementary Level SSAT, Middle Level SSAT, and Upper Level SSAT: I offer prep for all the test sections: Verbal, Reading, and Quantitative. With my guidance, students master analogies, build their vocabulary knowledge, sharpen their reading skills, and learn how to quickly solve math problems. We focus on strategies, time management, and any necessary concept review. I also guide them through the SSAT essay/short story section so their writing really shines and sets them apart from other applicants. Whether students invest months in their test prep or spend a few lessons with me to improve their test performance, they raise their scores and become better test takers. One of my most successful students raised his overall score by 86 points after only 6 lessons, and 2 other students scored in the 98th percentile for highly competitive schools!

    About Me

Since 2010, I have helped more than 6000 students understand their homework, excel in their classes, and comprehensively prepare for upcoming exams. With my support, my students pinpoint struggle areas and conquer them so they can achieve their goals in school and life. They make progress in their studies and score in the top percentiles on tests. One of my students aced her precalculus final exam, an ACT student raised his math score from 27 to 34, and 2 SSAT students scored in the 98th percentile!

The key formula for successful learning is “practice makes perfect”: anyone can improve with enough hard work, dedication, and, of course, the right guidance. I don't just teach my students what they need to know: I show them how to build on the skills they already have and reach their true potential. I know from my own experience how hard it is to learn any subject and how much harder it is to find the right teacher. Now I explain the same concepts I've mastered to countless students who need my help. I customize my online lessons to fit every student’s needs.

Hi, I'm Natalie! For over 15 years, I’ve helped students prepare for all sections of the ISEE exam. We focus on concept review, strategy/approach, and good time management techniques so they can reach their score goals. *Lower Level ISEE, Middle Level ISEE, and Upper Level ISEE: Whether students see me to target specific struggle areas or to fully prepare for each section, they make progress and increase their scores, consistently scoring in the top percentiles. Strategies, time management, and test-taking skills are the central focus of our ISEE preparation. For the Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections, we work on extensive vocabulary review, sentence completion exercises, and reading practice. For the Quantitative Reasoning and Mathematics Achievement sections, we complete any necessary concept review and work through related practice questions together. I especially coach solving quantitative comparisons, a question type unique to the ISEE and other tests created by ETS. Additionally, I have helped students strengthen and improve their writing for the unscored ISEE essay section so their submissions highlight their voices, talents, and achievements.
Hi, I'm Natalie! I’ve been working as a professional writer and editor since 2009, and I started to offer writing tutoring in 2010. During all my years of writing coaching, I have worked with hundreds of students who have never been taught how to write strong, descriptive sentences. They don’t understand how to construct a well-organized, meaningful paragraph, or they have never seen an essay developed without the famous “5 Paragraph Structure” outline in place. They do not know what critical thinking is or how it helps them become assertive, enthusiastic writers. The writing process itself is also a learning process from start to finish. Before we begin lessons, students submit a short writing sample so I can assess which skill area we should target first. Writing coaching is where I show and guide my students how to better their writing using different techniques. Like in any sport or the arts, evaluation and constructive criticism are another important aspect of their writing growth. They get feedback and advice specific to the assignments and projects they are working on, and practice outside of lessons is necessary if they want to see regular improvement and make progress. We also work on writing mechanics, which includes English grammar rules. This helps them become stronger writers and speakers, aware of common mistakes and how to avoid them. You want your child to practice grammar skills with a native speaker who has studied English for decades and knows the rules inside out. Every person in the world has the potential to be a confident, eloquent writer. All it takes is one step — or sentence — forward in the right direction. I am excited to walk with you on the path to successful writing.

SAT, SAT Math 1, SAT Math 2, GMAT, GRE, GRE Math 1 and 2
Dear students and parents, I am an enthusiastic and hard-working multilingual (English, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani) Math and Statistics educator and Data Analyst with 12 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience in an international environment. Focused on an outcome-based approach to progress and deadline-oriented. I usually hear from parents, that I make their kids love math, and it makes me the happiest teacher. First, as a Math Teacher, my main aim is to encourage students to analyze the problem carefully and find different solutions for one question. This method helps students to choose the easiest way of solution for her/him during the exam and finish it in time. I teach students both ways how to solve questions without a calculator with math tricks, and how to use a calculator more effectively. As you know in the exam there might be non-calculator and calculator papers. Moreover, this ability helps students not only to understand the math subject deeply but also will be very helpful during their adult life. Having teaching experience (Math and Statistics) in one of the top universities in the US (UW-Madison) helped me see the path of a student from the school bench to the university auditorium. Only by working in both school and university, you can understand what is better to learn for a student to be helpful in the future university years and how to show the connection between the math SAT and math at the university level. Years of hands-on work experience and a keen interest in Math teaching as a profession (in both school and university), as a deep understanding of the connection between school and university Math have prepared me well to see the strengths and weaknesses of the student and how to use that strong side of a student to improve the gaps that student earned in her/his earlier years. Therefore, I believe that all these experiences will help me smoothly raise the level of my students and succeed in their future lives. Sincerely, Leila

SAT/SSAT/APUSH and other Test Prep Tutoring: Unique Strategies and a Systematic Approach
For twelve years, I have helped students achieve dramatic results on standardized tests. For half of that time, I worked in China, where I learned the secrets of the top test prep companies and was later hired by them to develop new programs and test strategies. During this time, I was invited by China’s Ministry of Education as a featured guest speaker on how to design and execute innovative reading and vocabulary development strategies. My reputation grew with each student’s success, and my clientele grew to include China’s growing numbers of millionaires (and even a few billionaires) who wanted to help their children achieve success. Thanks to recent world events, I am now back in the United States, where I am president of an international tutoring company.

Public Speaking (children / adults - amateurs - professionals)
ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING is a course that offers training in public speaking, communication, oral expression, recording podcasts, preparing a speech or conference, a presentation or a dissertation. ————————— The basis of the courses is ideally divided into 5 parts. (If there is only one course, all the subjects can be mentioned but not developed.) Rates are per person. If there are several participants, contact me for a group rate. ————————— ADULTS & SENIORS - Business executives, politicians or simply shy people can learn how to "dare" to speak in public, be heard, understood and regain self-confidence or professional efficiency. COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL - 10 to 17 years old - Preparation for the grand oral brevet and baccalaureate exam through improvisation on the one hand and the requirement of declamation on the other. For an exam, a better dialogue, to express oneself, to debate or simply to argue for the pleasure of the oratorical joust... Students, teachers, individuals, professionals... come and discover the pleasure of public speaking, the joy of expressing your ideas clearly, the art of speaking to be better understood and goodbye to glossophobia! (More than 70% of us suffer from "glossophobia", fear of speaking in public) Come learn public speaking. Perfect your writing of a text to be spoken. Learn the art of gesture to complement that of words and verve and brilliance will be within your reach! CHILDREN - 7 to 10 years old - This course can help a child find a little more self-confidence and understand some of the mechanisms of speaking. In this case, more playful techniques such as improvisation, theatre and drawing will be used... The psychological part of this course is even more important than for adolescents and adults because children's emotions are more difficult for them to manage and their attention span must be limited. GOOD TO KNOW: Eloquence – From the Latin eloquentia, from eloqui, to express oneself 'It is the art of speaking well, that is to say, of acting through words on an audience, of convincing them through argumentation, but also through emotion.' Alain BRUNN: former student of the École normale supérieure, agrégé of modern literature, University of Paris-III-Sorbonne nouvelle "It is not eloquence that is born of rhetoric, but rhetoric that is born of eloquence" (Cicero -De oratore, XXXIII, 146)
