Why learn German? Is German, this language so different from ours and so complex, worth our time? Should we spend time learning a language that has three different genders (der/die/das), grammar rules that have more exceptions than rules, and pronunciation that is different from ours? And in the end are the Germans worth it, they all master English and only eat Schnitzels and drink beer right! Now that we have faced all the clichés, let's study this more closely. German occupies twelfth place in the world, the most used languages on our planet, other languages such as Mandarin, English, Spanish or Arabic are much more popular. In other words, deciding to learn Goethe’s language is not an obvious choice. And yet many people around the world learn this language every year. For what ! Warum! There are good reasons for this. Not only from a linguistic point of view, but also in terms of economic opportunities, networking potential and cultural gain. Learning German is interesting. So, have you already started learning or are wondering if learning this language is a waste of time? I highly recommend reading on to find out why learning German is a good choice. Here are 12 good reasons why you should start learning German today! 1. German is the most spoken language in Europe. This is not surprising, because with 83 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous country in Europe. Additionally, it is the official language of Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein and the mother tongue of a significant part of the population in northern Italy, eastern Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, eastern France, part of Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia and Romania, as well as other parts of Europe. By learning the German language, you will be able to communicate with more than 120 million native speakers around the world, as German is the twelfth most spoken language. And don’t forget that many people learn German as a second language. It is the 3rd most popular foreign language taught in the world and the second most popular in Europe and Japan, after English. To find out where to find native German speakers, I suggest you discover the following Wikipedia entry: Geographical distribution of German 2. German will give you access to world-class higher education German universities have an excellent international reputation . In 2011, the country was the fourth most popular destination for foreign students. Additionally, the German higher education system has a number of universities with very low or no tuition fees. No wonder students flock there! Who says you have to spend a fortune to get quality education? In Germany, tuition fees are free at most universities. Some establishments charge between €400 and €600 per semester, and above all the quality of teaching is not sacrificed. Many German universities with these rates are among the top 100 in the world. As for international students, they can benefit from free training on undergraduate courses. However, although some lessons can be taught in English, the vast majority of lessons take place in German. To join a university, candidates must therefore prove their mastery of the German language. So if you want to achieve quality higher education at a lower cost, learn German now! PS Austria also offers higher education for very reasonable prices. 3. Germany has the fourth strongest economy in the world German is not only an attractive option for academics, but also for those in the business world. Germany is the largest economy in the European Union and the fourth largest in the world. It is home to many international companies at the forefront of new technologies. From cars, machines, industrial equipment, pharmaceuticals to household products, everything in between German companies earn €1 in 3 thanks to exports and 1 in 4 jobs depend on it. Having German language skills on your CV can boost your career in many ways. PS And don't forget that Switzerland, another German-speaking country, which has one of the highest standards of living in the world. 4. Many job opportunities. Germany's economic strength is matched by its business opportunities. Multinational business opportunities exist throughout the European Union and in Eastern European countries, where German is the second most spoken language after Russian. Companies like BMW, Daimler, Siemens, Lufthansa, Bosch and many others need international partners. The Japanese, who have the second most powerful economy in the world, have understood the commercial advantages of knowing German: 68% of Japanese students now study German. If you are interested in pursuing or strengthening a corporate career, you will benefit from knowing the native language of your German business partners. 5. German in France Germany is by far France's largest trading partner, it represents more than 17%, i.e. a weight more than twice that of the countries following Germany in the ranking. It is also the country to which France exports the most “made in France” products; nearly 16% of companies depend directly on trade with German-speaking countries. More than 2,700 German companies or subsidiaries which employ nearly 500,000 people are currently present on French soil. Even if it is not always necessary to speak German to join these companies, mastery of the language is a considerable advantage to progress in these companies. Since the head offices are often located in Germany, the more responsibilities you have, the more you will be required to express yourself in German. 6. German is the language of inventors and innovators Das Land der Dichter und Denker, it is said that Germany is the country of poets and thinkers, but not only that. A large percentage of the world's most impressive achievements were first conceived in Germany. More than a hundred Nobel Prizes have been awarded to brilliant Germans for achievements in physics, medicine, chemistry, literature and other fields. As a nation committed to research and development, Germans are at the forefront of new technologies. Germany exports more high-tech products than any other country except the United States and more than 600 companies are active in the cutting-edge field of biotechnology, 115 of which are located in Munich. in Bavaria. Small cultural point: Germany is the country of inventors, from Daniel Fahrenheit who developed the mercury thermometer, from Gutenberg's printing press to the discovery of electromagnetic waves by Hertz, from the development of chemotherapy by Ehrlich to the Einstein's theory of relativity, to the creation of the digital music format MP3, throughout history the Germans have proven themselves to be great innovators. This trend continues today. 4 of the 10 most innovative companies in the world are located in Germany as well as 12.7% of patent applications worldwide, the country ranks 3rd in the world. As a result, 200,000 companies introduce new products to the market every year.

Kevin
Polyglot specialist with 9 years of experience. German in speed mode. Level A1 to C2. No school teaching. I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches:
If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options:
1) Memorise the timetable.
2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m.
In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster.
My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods.
Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude.
I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life.
What will not be covered in the course:
learning lists of verbs;
learning lists of nouns with articles;
learning words with their translations;
flashcards;
doing school exercises;
following the syllabus of a booklet;
imposing the English grammar on the German language.
What is particularly important to me:
to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm;
to encourage his creativity;
to befriend him with the language;
the letters and their sounds;
to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop;
to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences;
to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible;
to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...;
to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary.
A first lesson will give you a sound idea of my pedagogy.

German 🇩🇪 ✨ differently for young and old 🤗 with compunction, humor and magic ✨Möchten Sie Deutsch lernen? If you've always dreamed of saying “Guten Tag” with a mischievous smile, these courses are the perfect opportunity for you to dive into the fascinating world of the German language! 🇩🇪
I can provide academic support for children, as well as individual lessons for professionals or anyone else interested. In Besançon or by video.
Usually, I teach a multitude of subjects in alternation, putting priority on the student's wishes. Together we will break through the tangled maze of German grammar brilliantly. 🇩🇪 And to brighten up the lessons, I have a lot of tracks in my repertoire such as humorous poems by J. Ringelnatz or songs. Also, I always find it pleasant to support beginners in their first steps. 🤗📚
My arsenal? An online portal with links and materials that I personalize for each student and a mind map at the beginning to present all the themes I propose. I will send you on request. Some exercises I did myself, often with the help of AI. I can recommend some nifty software and give you incentives so that you can continue learning very effectively yourself. And inspire you to learn the long works of Goethe and Schiller with new vivacity. 💡
My particular passion is German compound words, a real linguistic puzzle! How would you translate Handschuh = "shoe of the hands", Zebrastreifen = "zebra strips", Dachboden = "roof floor" or Friedhof = "court of peace. And for the advances, what is it about with the " Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitätssyndrom"? (I will send you answers on request (; ) 🤓🇩🇪
For the curious, what concerns your teacher:
Born in Northern Germany and since 2020 in Besançon. Graduate in geography. I have already taught German in various projects in Togo and Kyrgyzstan. I have already taught German in various projects in Togo and Kyrgyzstan. In Besançon, I worked as a German teacher for the "Maison Blanche Formation", a language school for professionals and for the Scops association. 🌍👨🏫
The lessons can take place in my apartment in the city center of Besançon, at the student's home, against a possible travel expense depending on the distance or by video. And surprise, I also provide academic support in mathematics, English or multi-subjects. 🎓💻🗣️
So, ready for an extraordinary linguistic adventure? Johannes, the spell master is waiting for you! Prost (that's "cheers" in German) and see you soon! 🌈👋

What distinguishes my lessons is that I have a lot of patience for my students and practice with them until they understand it. Everyone loves teaching with me. I respond to my students' requests and my goal is to help students make progress without burdening them. I give assignments after every lesson and create regular progress reports.

Private German lessons by qualified academicUniversity graduate in German language and literature (Master of Letters in German with specialization in medieval languages and literature) with a solid experience, gives private German lessons for all levels.
My lessons are adapted according to the needs of the student. They aim to consolidate concepts, fill gaps, prepare for exams (maturity, compulsory school leaving certificates, entrance exams to gymnasiums and universities, Goethe Zertifikat up to B2). Opportunity to learn the language.
For school supports:
This is above all long-term work, which implies on my part taking the time to "learn how to learn" in an effective manner: every exercise is explained in detail, which can make its execution easier. slower. Quality takes priority over quantity in order to obtain optimal results over time.
Students bring their own course materials (notebooks, books, audio CDs, dictionaries, assessments, etc.).
Another important point: in order for my help to be beneficial, it is necessary that the student provides regular personal work between lessons. This essentially involves rereading your notes, repeating exercises similar to those carried out together or even moving forward in learning vocabulary.
For conversation classes:
The topics are based on interests and/or specific needs for exam preparation. I attach particular importance to pronunciation, fluency and vocabulary. I usually correct at the end of a conversation exercise with detailed feedback, in order to avoid any blockages and to work on fluency. Depending on the level of the students and/or their expectations (exam preparations/assessments/desire for improvement for example), I work on the choice of appropriate words, grammatical accuracy, the ability to formulate more or less complex sentences.
For exam preparations:
The courses offer to acquire solid tools to learn to write, to comment on literary texts and a methodology to work on oral comprehension. The student must bring their own exam preparation brochure, available in all bookstores. For Goethe Institute model exams, the exam books from Cornlesen are particularly suitable. The other alternative would be to download and print before the start of the course a copy of the Goethe Institute exam available on the institute's website.
For the oral comprehension:
Work from audio-visual viewings downloaded from the Deutsche Welle site, which offer various recordings adapted to all levels, with a very concrete approach. In the long term, the student acquires ease not only in oral comprehension, but also enriches his basic vocabulary through exercises. I also work on the Goethe Institut oral tests to familiarize myself with speaking.
For the work of the written expression:
I begin by explaining in the first lesson some methodological tools to acquire writing skills. The student has the opportunity to start writing during the course or do a writing exercise on duty and give it to me to correct (send by email or at the beginning of the next lesson). The corrections are explained in detail. In addition, at the time of booking, the student can send me a draft copy before the lesson so that I can meet his needs even more quickly.
Apart from my presence with the student, every lesson involves preparation time before and after the lesson, particularly for the work that I correct. My goal being to design an individualized course, I take the time necessary to write detailed comments on corrected work or advice to ensure maximum success for everyone.
In addition, each student can contact me at any time outside of class by email if necessary.
Feel free to contact me for more information. :)
