Both classical piano training with years of study at the Geneva Conservatory and electroacoustic training with a bachelor's degree in music technology, I provide a program adapted to the needs and desires of each student. With seven years of experience under my belt and having had students of all ages and backgrounds, I gladly teach classical pieces, jazz, pop, but also music theory or even composition or improvisation. At the same time, I also teach electroacoustic composition to children.

My piano lessons are aimed at beginners as well as more experienced students. We will start by defining together what your objectives are in order to find a learning pace that suits you. I offer a global approach to the piano combining technique, interpretation of pieces of varied styles and improvisation/music theory. A course is generally structured as follows: 1. 5 to 10 minutes of technical work. The development of effective gestures is essential in order to fully express one's musical potential. I offer progressive exercises allowing you to acquire the basics of piano technique (finger independence, velocity, hand coordination, arm mobility, posture, etc.). For young students, this work takes the form of keyboard games. Just like a sport, playing an instrument is a challenge for the body: I ensure that the student adopts a good posture on the instrument, in order to play with control and to avoid tension and injuries linked to an inattentive practice. 2. Interpretation. I propose strategies for structuring the learning of a piece, in order to optimize the time spent working on the piano and to make the student autonomous in their practice. My training at the conservatory allows me to introduce you to the styles of different eras of classical music, from baroque to the present day. I am also open to other musical universes, and the choice of pieces is primarily based on your tastes and desires. For the youngest students, I offer a suitable repertoire (arrangements of classical pieces, film music, video games, anime, songs), as well as simplified scores for a gradual introduction to reading. In order to cultivate motivation, it is important that students play music that speaks to them and that they are not discouraged by music theory. 3. Improvisation and music theory. For students who are beginners or have never done music theory, I teach the necessary theoretical bases (orientating themselves on the keyboard, reading a score, rhythm, listening), often in the form of improvisation games. In addition to developing a personal connection with the instrument, improvisation also allows you to assimilate notions of harmony/counterpoint (scales, intervals, chords) through practice, and to understand little by little how music is constructed. To make the link with the repertoire being worked on in class, I often suggest taking an element of a piece as a starting point for improvising. Of course, nothing obliges us to follow a particular plan, and if you come with a particular desire or a specific objective, I will try to meet your expectations as best as possible. Having played piano for 12 years, I offer lessons to learn the basics of piano. If you are a complete beginner or you already have some basics, I offer exercises and pieces adapted to your level. I base myself on my own learning, so it is not a professional course, I just want to introduce this instrument in a fun way.

Hello, My name is Louana, I am 30 years old and am currently a piano teacher for students ranging from 3 to 65 years old. Indeed, I started very young music with first 2 years of rhythm then 5 years of Solfege Jacques-Dalcroze and finally 12 years of piano including 10 at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva. (each year of study being validated by exams & diplomas) Today I continue to play for fun and give some of my time to teach a few students once a week. Class sessions are generally 45 minutes to 1 hour as proposed by the Conservatory. I teach with my old scores which allows a gradual evolution step by step. Obviously, I remain attentive to everyone's wishes, but I particularly teach classical music because in my opinion, these are the best bases allowing you to play what you want. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. My lessons are distinguished by their dynamics, practical approach and adaptation to the needs and interests of the student. The lessons (live or online) take place in my studio next to the Maastunnel, where I have a premium stage piano and a top-quality webcam setup. I speak Dutch at an intermediate level, which is improving every day.

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
