In my experience over the past few years as a piano teacher to students of all levels and ages, I have found that people learn so much more when they are able to express themselves and have a fun time from the very first lesson. For this reason I focus on teaching piano and music through the lens of jazz, which allows for so much freedom as well as being really educational in all different styles of music. In my classes you will learn how music really works in a relevant way by studying music that you yourself enjoy listening to and would like to create, and practice dynamically using tools like backing tracks which make it feel like there is a band in the room with you! I also produce electronic/funk/neo soul music for my solo project and as a session musician. If learning music production interests you, I can also help you with that! I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.
