For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

Originally from Israel, Elam is currently living and working in New York City. Elam graduated from the New school for Jazz and Contemporary music, and has had the opportunity to play and perform with distinguished artists such as Abraham Burton, Eric McPherson, David Bryant, Duane Eubanks, Jason Palmer, Joel Ross, Nasheet Waits, Will Sellenraad, Chris Beck, David Virelles, Donald Edwards, Mike DiRubbo, George Coleman Jr., Jonathan Voltzok, Yuval Cohen, Spike Wilner, Anthony Pinciotti, Ben Solomon, Don Hahn, Tom Oren and others. Elam has performed internationally in Bern, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris, Marseille, Vienna, Lublijana, Klagenfurt, Rostov, Zagreb, Krakow, Prague, Vigo and other places. Elam has performed at the Red Sea Jazz Festival twice with the Yuval Cohen Sextet and the JT and the magnificent soul big band, as well as at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Marseille Jazz festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz festival, Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow, Duc des Lombards, Cangas Jazz Festival and others. I studied Jazz at Berklee College of Music. I was a classic pianist. It was not easy to adjust my classic chord progression to Jazz progression. There must be many people struggling to play jazz with classic music fingering. I can help you to make your sounds like real jazz music. Playing piano is so much fun, When you play, you got to sing.and make it more fun. Most of the piano course start with white keys in C major. My lesson starts with F#/Gb scale which is the pentatonic scale. You won't have any fear to deal with black keys. You are not supposed to count music. You need to feel it, groove it and enjoy it. Hello and welcome to my music studio! It is absolutely fabulous that you are interested in music, and I hope you have lots and lots of fun with it! However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in! This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year. Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person, and I aim to transfer that passion to my students.

Each voice is different and each person approaches art in their own way. In our classes we aim to find the best possible way to realize your musical goals. For that I aim to create a comfortable environment where one feels excited to sing and challenge themselves. We will go over the techniques of singing, vocal health, other vocal skills, understanding of harmony and bringing out emotion while singing. Songwriting is another area that I'd love to help in. We work on creating melodies, working on harmonies and chords, and the reason why they work the way they do. We also work on creative songwriting and arranging techniques, as well as learning how to make sheet music for it that any musician in the world can pick up, read and play (in case you become a big star and do a world tour haha). I can also help Beginner students at the Piano. Technique, posture and music theory are aspects we would work on! I've been teaching people of all ages since I was 21. During my 8 years of teaching, I've taught at some of the best local music schools in New Delhi (like One World College of Music and Blue Note School of Music) and have also been tutoring people in private 1v1 classes on both voice and piano.

Taiko Drumming is both a traditional instrument and an innovative medium for making contemporary music. I am Eva, a professional Taiko Drummer, and I have playing the Taiko drums for 30 years. Lessons will be taught online on weekdays and on-site in central Tokyo on weekends, in groups. Private lessons can be arranged upon request. Here is my profile: Born in Tokyo, Japan, Eva was raised by a family of scholars and artists with mixed German and Japanese heritage. From a young age, she learned how to play piano after her father introduced her to classical music, while she simultaneously learned Taiko after her mother introduced her to the Japanese arts. After graduating from the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, Japan, she attended Cornell University in New York, USA, where she earned a B.A. in Philosophy. While attending Cornell, she joined the Cornell University Percussion Ensemble. The following year, she co-founded the Taiko drumming student organization called Cornell Taiko (YAMATAI) and she was the lead drummer and Musical Director. After graduating from Cornell at the young age of 22, she returned to Japan and started performing professionally. She started her solo career a year later. Eva is also trained in Japanese folk dance (with a focus on male styles) and has a passion for street dance and locking. She joined an Awa dance team affiliated with the prestigious Koenji Awa Dance Association and made her way to become one of the top female dancers in Japan. Today, she brings Japanese taiko drumming and song to a brand new context of pop music and also performs with many distinguished artists, musicians, dancers, and Taiko drummers across multiple genres. Eva does not only perform using taiko, she also uses a number of other instruments that have a distinct flavor of the Japanese environment including Koto (Japanese Harp), Voice, and Piano. Eva also works in the field of education and teaches taiko drumming workshops to both children and adults and is also involved in humanitarian efforts such as raising awareness for the disabled. Her music, dynamic performances, and selfless spirit continue to inspire not only her many fans but all who witness her performances all over the world. ​ ​In 2023, her original music was published by Harper Collins Publisher and she was also the cover image of their music textbook. In 2024, her original music was utilized by Cambridge International Curriculum, used in over 160 countries and 10,000 schools, which sets a global standard for education, and is recognized by universities and employers worldwide.
