As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. I offer Saxophone lessons for all ages and levels. I have a wide education in musical pedagogy, supported by many years of teaching in music academies and working as a private teacher. I love teaching every kind of student and I truly believe that everyone can learn how to play an instrument and enjoy the music! Every student is different. The class will be an hour long, divided into two halves: the first half is practical and is specialized in exercises to strengthen the student’s abilities to play the oud, while the second half will be specialized in learning the science of Arabic music theory from Arabic (maqams)/scales and Arabic rhythms.
