As well as being a full-time professional musician, I was a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, UK, from 2018-2023, developing and delivering courses and curriculums, and have been a private teacher for 15 years. I hold Bachelor and Master's degrees in music, double bass and composition and have studied at schools in Birmingham, Paris and Berlin. Our lessons are based around the areas you are most interested in developing, and together we come up with a plan to help you move closer to your aims and goals, whether that be learning specific songs or repertoire, being able to improvise basslines or solos, improving technique etc. I am open to all ways of learning at all levels, from beginners to professionals. I additionally offer free optional audio or video feedback between lessons which can serve as useful reminders of ideas, techniques, exercises etc. or just to check in. Instrumental lessons are relaxed and can include theory, composition and improvisation from the beginning to help develop well-rounded musical skills. Improvisation lessons are suitable for all instruments/vocals and can cover specific musical contexts such as jazz, free improvisation, interpretation of new music (contemporary music) etc. In my teaching career I have also had the opportunity to develop specialist music projects with children and young adults, using interesting, fun and creative starting points. At the same time my current students range from age 16-50+ and my practise as a professional improviser allows me to be flexible and keep things interesting across all ages, ability levels and genres. I'm a songwriter and performer, producing and performing music using Live for over a decade. I've been working on Live as my main DAW for recording, editing, arranging and mixing. Depending on your needs, our classes could be more technical about how to best use all the features of Live, but could also be focussed on using Live as a creative tool for your productions.

With beginner saxophone students, we will first work on proper instrument holding and posture. Then, before blowing into the saxophone, we will practice long-tone exercises using the mouthpiece. Once comfortable with these fundamentals, we will start producing sound from the instrument and learning the notes. We will focus on long-tone exercises to develop control and consistency. We gradually start incorporating short exercises or simple melodies as the student progresses. Learning and progressing on an instrument mostly depends on the student's dedication and practice habits. If you love music and commit time to it, you can reach a good level in a short period!

The hours are designed according to your musical interests. Since each person has his or her own individual approach to music, it is logical and, in my experience, more effective to work with this in a specific way. So, instead of a rigid curriculum in which you lose interest in a short time, I would like to support you in achieving your personal plans and discovering musical possibilities! Depending on your interests, motivation, previous knowledge and musical taste, the following focal points are coordinated: Technique (tone formation, breathing, approach, intonation, finger technique, etc.), ear training, sense of rhythm, improvisation, note reading, music theory. Hi my name is Anne. I play the violin and the viola and I have studied at the conservatory at ArtEZ Jazz & Pop. During my studies I started to build by violin teacher practice. Apart from my private students I taught at the music school "Muziekdorp" in Wijchen and coached a band of high school students for a year. Next to teaching I play concerts with the "Metropole Academy", I have a string quartet "The Four Frogs in te Woods", and I'm playing in a Folk string duo. Students of all ages and categories are welcome in my lesson. Classical, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and free improvisation are some of the genres you can discover in our lessons. I did a Teacher Training with the American Violinist Mark O'Connor and finished this training with a diploma. His method is a very beautiful and comprehensive way to learn the variety of the violinistic possibilities. We will play a lot of music together. I offer piano lessons focusing on popular music styles that will help you build your confidence and have you performing in front of others in no time. This is perfect for teenagers or adults who want to learn but aren't interested in learning classical pieces. I only offer 1 / 1,5 / 2-hour sessions to give us plenty of time to work on the techniques, and, ideally, play a whole song during a single session.
