In this class, you are going to learn the fundamentals of creating original music, including Music theory, Motif Development, Rhythm, Structure, Orchestration, and Music Notation. During our classes, we are also going to explore different musical genres, analyze and finally put them into practice.

This course is above all there to make you want to play bass, let it be fun! It will be based on the practice of the instrument, on the understanding and the role of the bass. My name is Roman and I have been a composer of electronic music for about ten years. A multi-instrumentalist, I began my musical adventure by playing the guitar and then the piano. After obtaining my Brevet d'Études Musicales, I trained in Computer-Assisted Music (MAO), composition, audio mixing and mastering techniques. I work on Ableton Live software. Today, as an artist-author, I regularly partner with other artists and contribute to a wide variety of live performance and music-for-image projects. For the 2024-2025 season, I am participating in several artistic residencies and stage performances. I offer you a personalized, adaptable approach to achieve your learning objectives in MAO: on the menu, composition, arrangement, sound design, mixing... According to tastes! I will instruct students in the fundamental principles of free counterpoint—composition with melodic lines—with an emphasis on two-part writing and imitative counterpoint, based on my former Berklee College of Music training (alumni). We will apply the fundamental principles in practice and also examine the respective literature.
