We will start our lessons by learning the most basic skills such as correct pronunciation and simple grammar rules. We will continue to improve our speaking, listening and grammar levels by learning new informations step by step. Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.

I worked in a language school and at universities, and I suppose I gained success. 😀 I have been teaching Turkish professionally for 14 years. I also taught Turkish for 4 years when I was a university student. I learned Ottoman Turkish at the university, so I'm familiar with Persian and Arabic vocabulary. I also studied Persian, German, and Italian grammar. I completed my master's degree in Ottoman history and spent a semester as an Erasmus student at the Turkish Studies Department of Leiden University. I am interested in literature, cinema and TV series (nowadays Korean). I write books and movie analyses in my spare time. My lessons & teaching style: Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid knowledge of grammar because Turkish has a very different structure. I use a book set that Istanbul University prepares. The course book is structured with a strategic approach to learning Turkish by using all the language skills: reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking from A1 to C2. All these skills are essential for conversation. The workbook includes many exercises for homework or revision. I support the book with my authentic materials. I use a board that you can see anytime, and you can edit it, too. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons. I will share all the materials (books, audio, videos, authentic materials) with you according to your level. Important note: In group lessons, for example, to complete level A1, you need to take approximately 120-150 hours of lessons. There are 5 levels in total in Turkish: A1-A2 level (basic), B1-B2 level (intermediate), C1+ (advanced). By taking private lessons, you can complete all levels with an average of 2.5 times fewer lessons. For example, I recommend that you complete a level such as A1 beginner level in an average of 3 months. Since there are 5 levels of books in total, you can complete the learning in an average of 15 months. Of course, I am telling all of this to show you how and how much of a learning plan you have. This way, you can spend time and focus on Turkish and complete all levels with speaking practice.
