Good day, my name is Alex, I have been teaching math for over 10 years to hundreds of students. Both C and Java are one of the most used languages nowadays. Learning them as one of your first languages is a very good first step towards the coding world. I am currently doing my Bachelor in Computer Science at the University of TUM and already have experience on both languages.
