As an English Literature graduate and current MLitt Publishing student, I am specialised in reviewing academic texts, journal articles, fiction and non-fiction both for essay writing and copy editing. This class will help you structure your understanding of English, Italian or Spanish, with a tailored approach based on your personal needs and requirements (grammar, exam preparation, text comprehension, speaking, essay writing, and so on). Whether you’re a beginner or advanced, my goal is to apply a suitable learning system designed for you. We will go through the requested topic in class and practice together; then, I will assign you a specific task/assignment after class so that you can apply what you learned with me and ask relevant questions if needed.

I have a PhD in Theology from Cambridge. I studied English Literature as an undergraduate. I have 20+ years of experience teaching English and 10+ years of experience coaching students how to write an engaging personal statement and editing dissertations, papers, and research proposals. I can work with you on how to write an academic essay in a humanities or social sciences subject. Do note that while my background is in Theology and English, I can guide you on how to write an academic paper in other subjects since research papers follow the same format. However, I will not be able to advise you on subject-specific details.

After completing IB English Lang/Lit HL and receiving 7s in my HL Essays and IO, I am ready to help others achieve their highest potential when it comes to essay writing. IOs can be especially daunting, the idea of speaking for 10 minutes straight in essay format scared me too but I did it and received a 7, and I am here to provide you with tips and advice on how to achieve this.
