Piano lessons in Manchester’s City Centre with Gema

Study with award-winning pianist Gema, with individually tailored lessons to help you reach your goals🎹🌟

Graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music specialising in Music Education, Gema is a Spanish/Chinese pianist based in Manchester. She has experience teaching for 6 years to a wide range of students; whether you’re a beginner, young professional, preparing for exams, or just want to learn for fun. She has taught people of ages 2-53, believing it is never too late, or early, to start learning. When teaching children, she makes sure to always communicate with both parents and children so everyone is happy with the lessons. Gema has a wide experience teaching adults and is aware of the difficulties of learning a new skill while working full-time, so she makes sure to take each student’s personal circumstances into consideration when planning lessons. She has also taught three different languages: English, Spanish and Chinese, making her an ideal teacher if you want to improve your language skills while learning piano.

She teaches classical and pop repertoire, both in person and online. She has also taught these genres as a mix, and even adding improvisation and jazz to it.

Gema loves getting to understand her students and tailoring everything to their personal needs, so she always plans in advance and is open for a chat beforehand. She understands every student learns at a different pace, and will accommodate to your own pacing. She does not believe in following one single tutoring book through, and will give you enough resources to learn effectively and holistically, adjusting the learning curve to your needs. She believes in good communication and assertive conversations, so she will always listen to you if you don’t think something is working.
She believes in a reflective and learner-centered approach, so you can be assured that YOU are the priority.

Gema has successfully prepared all her ABRSM students to date and is able to teach Trinity, Rockschool and MTB syllabuses. She is also a piano teacher at a high school where she prepares GCSE students for their solo/ensemble performances.

About her experience as a performer, she has won 20 prizes in competitions and performed in 9 different countries (Spain, UK, France, Netherlands, Latvia, United States, China, Korea and Switzerland). Recently, she won the RNCM Lucy Hale Award and the RNCM Clifford Hartley Award, the latter one for achieving the highest mark at the piano pedagogy course.

To this day Gema is certain that her passion is teaching and helping students unlock their potential. Get in contact to start your journey now!

Simon
Philadelphia/Online Study Piano With Concert Pianist and Yale Graduate
I am a concert pianist currently living in Philadelphia! I am proud to have more than 20 awards from international piano competitions. If you want to read my artistic bio and read about the awards, and hear me play, please check my website. I am originally from Russia, and for the last two years I have lived in Europe. I’m back in the states in Summer 2024. Here is my story: I started out as a jazz pianist but began dedicating myself to classical music around the age of 14. Two years later I was accepted to the prestigious Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. I lived in Russia until the age of 18, and even back then I had major success in international piano competitions. I moved to the US to study with a Van Cliburn Gold medalist under a full scholarship at Park University. I later got my Master’s in piano performance at Yale University. While in the US, I played all over the country and won close to ten international piano competitions. During the past two years I have lived in Germany, where I tried to absorb as much experience as possible about the German piano tradition. I am a U.S. green card holder now. My strategy is to teach you to practice as efficiently as possible. Most people are wasting their time practicing the instrument, then get frustrated and eventually abandon it. I will show you how to make your practicing meaningful. The goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable, not harder. I would describe my approach as hands-on, but I am willing to give students as much freedom as they choose. I often ask my students to send me a video recording of their performance so that we can track progress and discuss our goals and objectives together. I send a detailed lesson summary and practice instructions at the end of every lesson. I try to be polite but straightforward. My job is to encourage you but also be clear about what is getting in your way. I am a perfectionist and encourage my students to push the bar as high as is possible at the moment. Although I have experience as a jazz pianist, my formal training is as a classical pianist and I prefer to offer only classical music lessons, yet the repertoire can range from early baroque to the most recent contemporary. With me, you can explore the endless possibilities the piano has to offer, focusing on any topic you wish to delve into and any musical genre that resonates with you. Are you looking for piano lessons for your child(ren) but don't know which teacher to trust? The first music classes for a young student are always the most important, often determining whether the child will love the instrument or not, so they require special attention. Pretty scary, I imagine! So, hello there! My name is Gina, and I am a specialized piano teacher in music education for children, with more than 7 years of experience teaching young pupils. I have worked with dozens of piano beginners, ensuring they have the best start in their musical journey. By following various teaching methods that have been proven to positively impact children's overall music education, I make sure that my pupils remain interested and learn a lot from the very beginning! You can book a first lesson where you—the parents—can also be present during the class. Who knows? Maybe you'll learn something new too! See you soon! Gina

Piano / Music Theory Lessons for All Levels - Recent Graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of Music
Geneva - Lausanne - Morges Courses in English, French, Italian (native languages) - German (European level B2) As a graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of Music, I offer with great enthusiasm, excellent methodology, and a strong desire to share my passion, piano and music theory lessons for all levels. Having completed 12 years of studies in Piano and Music Theory, as well as courses in Musical Training and Sight-Reading, I want to introduce this extraordinary instrument to both beginners and advanced students with the same passion that my teachers (including Sodi Braide, who studied at the Paris National Conservatory of Music (CNSM), and Stéphanie Aubert) used to bring me to my current level—performing in major concerts and competitions with first prize at the CMG. As a mechanical engineering student at EPFL, I can adapt the lessons in a fun yet rigorous way, to captivate young beginners. At the same time, my background allows me to expand and deepen the pianistic knowledge of advanced pianists. I look forward to sharing my passion with you!
