Having recently Graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a 1st class Bachelor’s Degree, Edgar is a Guitarist/Bassist based in Manchester. He has 4 years of teaching experience with a wide range of experience levels, whether a complete beginner, more intermediate, preparing for exams or just want to learn for fun. He has taught up to age 70, meaning it is never too late to start learning. Edgar’s experience in teaching adults means that he is well aware of the difficulties with balancing learning a new skill with working full-time, so he makes sure to take each individual student’s personal circumstances and work schedule into account when organising lessons. Edgar also won the Pendle Young Musicians Bursary in 2023 performing on classical guitar, which he used to fund a course at New York Jazz Academy that Summer.

I come from Hong Kong. I specialize in tutoring Classical, Pop, and Jazz guitar for beginners and intermediate students. My goal is to keep students combining theory with practice and make themself enjoyable with music. I assign exercises after every lesson. and provide videos to support students.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).
