This class covers major sociological and criminological theories, from classical frameworks to contemporary perspectives. Students will examine the works of key thinkers like Durkheim, Weber, Marx, Foucault, and others, understanding how their ideas contribute to our knowledge of society and criminal behavior. This class will provide students with the necessary analytical tools and principal knowledge they need to succeed in their English, History, or Social Studies classes, on both primary and secondary levels. Coming from a background of sociological research, I have both qualitative and quantitative methodological study methods that inform my tutoring strategies and increase student's general comprehension of key concepts. Beginning with teaching core principles from assigned textbooks and syllabi (of which I independently review and use to create individual and tailored lesson plans), I also provide students with critical thinking skills, grammar lessons, and essay writing tips to ensure that they reach their academic and intellectual potential. I have always loved exchanging and passing on what I have learned. My mother being a German teacher, I have always been immersed in the world of education. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and I still do today. My journey : - Mention Very Good at the ES baccalaureate - Studied Sociology and Political Science at the University of Geneva - History and Spanish studies at the London School of Economics (LSE), First Class Honours. I help academically and psychologically students in History-Geography, SES and English. I explain the course in detail (if necessary), and we work on the methodology for each event, the organization and the planning of the work to be done. I can also follow your child in other subjects for the smallest classes. Criminology is a complex and exciting subject delving in to the scientific study of crime, criminals and deviant behaviour. I am a BA (Hons) graduate in Criminology & Criminal Justice and have just completed my MSc in Terrorism and Counter Terrorism. The class will provide an introduction to criminology, it’s underlying theories and touch on special issues such as genocide and state crimes. The study of Terrorism will also be introduced and incorporated with the Criminology teachings. You’ll learn what underpins the study of Criminology in a simplified and engaging way. There will be tasks to complete after every next class, from multiple choice questions to mini essays, with feedback provided.

I offer ISS courses in French at 2nd, 1st and Terminal levels. I obtained the mention TB in the Baccalaureate and the mark of 17/20 in SES. I had the opportunity to give ESS lessons to my sister and several other students in Terminale. In these neuro-divergent times, the binary division of "one language or two" in bilinguals is perhaps due some contestation, which students are capable of providing. I have always found bilingual production models (and the ubiquitous Powerpoint slide) that university teachers provide a hindrance because of their lack of explicitness and discussion - they are just not relatable as presented nor do they provide much information or examples for monolingual students. Code-switching, a by-product of bilingualism, is now a term that is even found in minority-ethnic neighbourhood grafitti ("can white people code-switch" a found example). Please note that this is a linguistic term, used for switching between two languages, and not between local or social varieties of English. My personal position is that there is no such thing as bilingualism: there is always a language that suffers attrition, and one language that prevails, mostly because of its prestigious standing over the other language. On the other hand, a child exposed to more than one language cannot be truly monolingual. For this course (very popular at universities around Europe both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) we shall go through the terms used to discuss bilingualism, in detail, and then discuss, with the help of published books and articles, who can be considered bilingual (or are we all, one other language lying dormant?). Can bilingualism be defined by the speaker, instead of the "community"? Can it be imposed by the State? Does a bilingual brain function in the same manner as a monolingual brain? These are research questions that emerge as dissertation or thesis topics both at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
