Hello! My name is Jen and I am a session guitar and bass guitar player with over 10 years of professional experience. I have performed in a wide variety of bands, playing genres such as pop, rock, soul, jazz and folk, and using techniques like finger-style, slap, palm muting and picking. It is so important for people of all ages to learn new skills and discover methods of self expression - playing an instrument can be a gateway to enhancing children's development and future life skills. This is why I am so enthusiastic about teaching music to kids but also to anyone wanting to learn. I will listen to their needs and goals and personalise the process for each individual ensuring they get the most out of these sessions. I am eager to share and teach my knowledge of these wonderful instruments and inspire my students to have fun whilst playing and in turn, excel as a musician and performer! I also teach music theory as it is a pivitol part of understanding the instrument at harder levels. I believe it's really important to teach with the students goals in mind and so to begin with, I would have a conversation about where they are with their playing currently, where they want to be and what they want to primarily focus on. This is so that we both get the most out of lesson time! I look forward to meeting you and playing some awesome music!

I am a Grade 7 pianist and have played piano for nearly my whole life! I have also played several other instruments. I also have my Grade 5 Music Theory. Music theory is important for any musician to further understand the instrument they are learning. It is best to start with theory as soon as you can in your music journey. In order to progress past Grade 5 you require the music theory examination. I have played and studied music most of my life and as your tutor I would love to help you gain a further understanding of music and prepare for any music theory exams you may want to sit.

I have 8 years experience as an Information Technology and Business Studies teacher in a Secondary School. I am also a Head of Year group along with the professional lead mentor for PGSE Students training at school. I have experience with many exam boards and can help to prepare you for examinations and coursework. I can provide extra tuition for students in lower years with an interest and passion for both subjects. If you are a trainee teacher needing help / guidance with applications, lessons or behaviour management I can also work with you.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

The 30 mins lesson option is just for the new students, so we can meet, discuss, see what you need (level, scores, etc) and, of, course, start to play! Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
