I am an Italian native speaker in Leuven until the end of January and I would like to help people improving their knowledge of the Italian language. I am a 24 years old girl from Verona. I study English and Russian for a Master's degree, so I am used to the learning of languages. The lesson could take place in any library or wherever the student wishes.

Hello, I'm Verdiana and I'm a Master student at KU Leuven. I tutor students and offer private lessons since I was 16, thus I've gained quite some experience on the topic. My main focus is on foreign language because I've studied them for 5 years. Here in Leuven though, I would like to teach Italian, my native language. During a one-hour-class, you'll get the chance to explore the (difficult but fascinating) Italian grammar, to practice both your oral and written skills and to learn some useful Italian phrases. I am Valentina and I am a PhD student in Neuroscience. I was born in Italy, in Trento. I love the teaching of my mother tongue! I have experience in the italian private lessons since three years. I used to be prepared and clear during my lessons, to optimize the time to learn a lot in a short time, and to adapt to the needs/knowledge of the person. My name is Helen. I lived abroad for over 25 years: in Great Britain where I taught FLE, then in Belgium where I worked with European institutions on projects, and finally in Italy for 20 years where I was called upon to teach FLE at the University of Turin and where, at the same time, I directed cultural projects linked to French-speaking literature at a local institution, il Circolo dei Lettori. My FLE teaching is pragmatic, progressive and tailor-made. Why ? Because before teaching, I had to personally confront learning languages: English, then Spanish, Portuguese and finally Italian. I thus understood what is useful and what is less so for entering another language, what gives the pleasure of seeing oneself progress, of beginning to speak, to understand, to write... The FLE course, that is to say French as a Foreign Language, is certainly intended for those who wish to learn French in order to fit into a French-speaking context, but also for children/adolescents who do not have the grammatical bases to be good at school. A language, any language, cannot be acquired just "at random", it has a structure called grammar through which one must progress in order to learn. DON’T PANIC, GRAMMAR CAN BE APPROACHED WITH PLEASURE! All my many students have liked the progression that I give to my lessons and the relevance of my pedagogical approach, serious and fun at the same time.

Hello everyone! I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy. I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language. I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments. Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above). I offer Italian lessons for adults using a specific, very lively and effective method that will allow you to understand, read books in Italian, watch films in the original version and above all to express yourself quickly, with a solid grammatical foundation, in everyday life, but also to have rich conversations with your interlocutors. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests and availability of the student. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and put the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course and for each lesson I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
